It is an okay kopitiam. PS: visit here due to water disruption in Puchong.
Our favourite mee hoon (mee siam) is no longer as soft as I like it to be so maybe there won't be a next time as we will order nasi lemak instead.
Our favourite plate of mee siam costs MYR 10.85++ (MYR 12.58 nett) which is a little bit lower than the price with GST which is MYR 12.70 nett back in Nov 2015. The mee siam still tastes good with the taste of soybean paste (dou ban jiang / 豆瓣酱) and the texture of the mee hoon is soft but not mushy.
The potato bun so so, drink is okay. Very crowded, most seems to come for the Wantan Noodles.
I love the Custard Bun because I prefer the sugar-dusted sweet on top of the bun. You will be impressed by the beautifully fresh baked cream within, which tastes like egg yolk!
Lunch for two pax at a total of MYR 32.10 nett in mid January 2020 at Good Taste eatery at Jalil Link.
Dry noodles with char siew (BBQ pork) and wantons (small portion) at MYR 7.50++ (MYR 8.33 nett). My friend complained to me that the BBQ pork seems to have been brushed with a layer of melted butter so I had to eat all the BBQ pork too so I guess we won't be eating here again since so many complaints from my friend.
We were famished on our way home so we stopped by Good Taste in Jalil Link to have our early dinner at 4.30 pm. I ordered a small portion of lean char siew (BBQ pork) at MYR7.50 nett. I like to eat this char siew because it is very lean and tender. It is not those melt-in-the-mouth-caramelized-char-siew.
Roast chicken thigh, siew yuk rice at MYR 7 nett, cham hot at MYR 1.80 nett and dry 3jc at MYR 7 nett. Not as many people as before mco
This dish is known to us as Sam Kan Choong pork noodle (dry). I believe Sam Kan Choong is the name of a shop that specializes in this dish and we just use this likespecific shop name to refer to this dish like how we use the word Colgate when we just mean toothpaste. It costs MYR 7 nett. The flat rectangular white pork balls, minced pork and slices of big sausages are what make this Sam Kan Choong dish.
For MYR2, I could only buy a piece of chee cheong fun (kosong) from a stall in Friendship Cafe. Back in 2014, the price is only MYR1.60 per piece. Not much nutritional value (just carb and sugar) but it does keep me full for at least 2 hours
We ordered an extra side dish of roast pork (siew yuk) and char siu. The char siu is almost melt in the mouth while the siew yuk is tender but the skin is not crispy. It will be perfect if the siew yuk skin is crispy so that is a little let down. We went there for early dinner and probably that is the reason.
I would recommend dropping by during dinner hours - as the traffic would have died down and is easier to get a parking spot too.
Uncle Chong's Local Delights 虽没有华丽的店面装潢,但有着超过40年历史的美食秘方,还有钟叔叔一家的诚意 -- 非常亲民的价格,非常公道的份量。
Generally, Kwong Wah wins on all counts as it has tasty snacks for brekkie, tea or larger portions for those looking for main meals. Well, almost, as I wish it served hot drinks, even if it’s Chinese tea, as you need more than ice to wash down the food, and mineral water is no fun. Definitely worth a second visit, and more…
A bowl of pork noodle at MYR 7.80 nett and a bowl of 4 meatballs at MYR 2 nett. The meatballs have dried cuttlefish taste so they are delicious!
At this price (RM7.50), it was a pleasant surprise for me that this noodle dish is very decent with many thin slices of pork belly, 2 pork meatballs, a few clumps of minced meat, 2 pieces of intestine, and a few leaves of cabbage, not to mention a few cubes of crispy deep fried lard (which I did not eat - what a waste I hear lard lovers say). I also like that the meehoon in my order is soft enough for me to enjoy without hurting my teeth.
Pretty good Chinese meals with reasonable prices. Food are generally tasty. My mother in law loves the crab with glass noodles (RM 112 for 700g).
When it is about Chinese cuisine, seafood is something you just cannot missed. At Bukit Jalil, Restoran Icon Kitchen is the only Chinese restaurant with live seafood. Overall, it is a disappointing restaurant. They need to maintain fresh seafood instead of using lower or leftover quality for their patrons.
Apart from being a good deal, the seafood were really fresh and well-prepared. Even the fried mantous and stir-fry dragon chives made good impression!
Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Resort is hosting a feast with a wide assortment of scrumptious food and beverages at the ‘Bazar Sajian Muhibah Bukit Jalil’ Ramadhan buffet dinner. Price: RM65nett per adult, RM33nett per child The ‘Bazar Sajian Muhibah Bukit Jalil’ Ramadhan buffet dinner will be served daily from 29th May to 23rd June 2017. Early bird vouchers are selling at RM49nett until 28th May 2017.
For my family of five, we usually opt for the value-for-money set option at RM 39.80 for two pax by having 2 sets of it which is good sharing portion for 5 of us. The set comes with prawns, meatballs, fish balls, fish fillets, tofu, vegetables, dumplings, a variety of bean curd products, eggs and noodles.
这里提供的火锅食材非常多样化, 主要以海鲜为主, 也有各种口味的炒米粉, 但我们无法一一点上桌, 就下次再去吃吧!
The thinly sliced Pork Belly (RM18.80), Meat Ball with Minced Pork (RM6) and QQ Tofu (RM6) are great additions. No matter what's in your pot, be sure to lay on the potent homemade chili sauce! Avg price per person: RM35
Restaurant Ye Look is my regular restaurant in Sri Petaling because the prices are reasonably cheap compared to other restaurants, especially in areas such as Petaling Jaya and Puchong. In Restaurant Ye Look, food is now served quite fast and the staff are friendly.
We've been coming to Restoran Ye Look in Sri Petaling quite often. The reasonably priced food, quick service and awesome taste keeps bringing us back. I was back in KL specially for an early Father's Day. My parents and I headed over here and arrived at 630pm. It was just in time before the crowds…
both the 鸡窝包 "Gai Wo Bao" and 排骨 "Pai Guat" were nice.
Clan Restaurant is famous on their signature bun and the place always crowded during weekend morning. You will see family with 3-4 generation is gather a table to eat dim sum. This is our Chinese culture. If you wish to come here for their dim sum, you have to come early before 10am. Otherwise, you have to wait for a table some time. Yes I experience it during my first visit.
Our Malaysian friends living in Scotland were back for their Easter break.. for our meet-up, I suggested chilli pan mee for lunch! We took them to Super Kitchen Chilli Pan Mee, one of our favorites..
I have been wanting to write about this Chilly Pan Mee story for the longest time in my blog. You see, the first time I heard about the chilly Pan Mee was from my youngest daughter who is a great fan of it. Clarrisha used to study in IMU, International Medical University in Bukit Jalil, so she and her batch mates would travel to this shop, Restoran Super Kitchen at Sri Petaling to satisfy their craving for the super spicy chilly Pan Mee from time to time. It's their favourite hideout for comfort food, especially after some stressful exam. Here goes my tasting experience of the Chilly Pan Mee; paying tribute to my daughter's all-time top favourite comfort food to eat! 😍😍😍
Still, it was a fun experience and the place is generally quite cozy.
For spicy food lovers, here’s a good place for you to rejoice! "Ma La Xiang Guo" is a heavily spiced dish that I couldn’t get enough. Get ready to get addicted to the numbness from the Sichuan peppercorns.
Signature Mee Pok (MYR 8.50 nett). The mee pok is tossed in lard oil and there are many pieces of deep fried lard on top of the noodles.
整体来说这里的食物普通不过胜在经济,就我个人而言是有点失望了,原以为有机会可以重温下小时候爱吃的面卜味道,不过还差得远捏!
Back in April this year (2016), I thought that it would be a very, very long time before we eat at House of Fishball, Sri Petaling again but I was wrong. On early morning, we had some errands to run nearby so we ate at this eatery again as it was the closest eatery around that was opened at that time.
Check out this one. I like their Prawn Mee and Kampung Chicken Rice.
Overall, we loved the food at The Vee by Teochew Kitchen, the Private Dining Sri Petaling. We never knew Teochew food is so flavourful and interesting. On top of that, their food prices are reasonable and affordable despite being a private dining restaurant. To be honest, we are planning to revisit this restaurant again in the future to check out some of the food that we missed. The Vee by Teochew Kitchen Private Dining is definitely the hidden gem of Sri Petaling.
