Another new dish in their menu, Pork Belly Tail is their speciality here that you may not find in any restaurants as claimed by their manager. To be frank, I was never a fan of any pork innards or even the chicken feet, but I discovered a new appreciation for pork belly (something I have never liked thanks to the bad reputation of cholesterol high food). Dig in deep and you might find the piggy tail too!

Fried Kuey Teow, 7.50 ringgit (Big) Having tasted it, I can almost guarantee that not one of us regretted our decision because it was tasty yawwww! A big plate would cost you 7.50 ringgit and a small plate would cost you 6.50 ringgit. The dish came with plenty of fish cakes, prawns, taugehs, cockles. It was delicious. I’d certainly be back here. It is surprisingly understated, I think. Despite its popularity, it was rather quite during brunch/lunch. Naturally, that meant that food arrived really fast too, which is another plus point.

Although I'm glad that the standard of the food has been maintained, the service from the kitchen was far from smooth. The waiting period for our food leaves much to be desired and, if you want to eat here, do not expect your food to arrive in the right order that it should be. It all depends on how busy each individual food station is (steaming station, noodles station, frying station, etc.) with their orders as they seem to churn out food independent of each other. I guess if you choose your timing wisely (like during non lesser peak times), hopefully you may end up with a much better dining experience. ^_* But having said that, the food is still good, some decent but mostly good...plus it still serves one of my favourite XLBs. The only downside, their prices seem to have risen quite significantly but their portions still remain small...even a vegetable dish of pea shoots ("tau miew") can cost RM26....haiz!

The Beef Brisket Noodle Soup was decent... though a little too greasy to our liking, the broth carried the right seasoning and come with an in-depth meaty flavor. My Personal Opinion If you're looking to eat some one-plate rice meals, small stir-fry (siu chow) dishes or fried rice and noodles or big stir-fry (tai chow) dishes with rice in absolute comfort without breaking a sweat (literally) and the bank...this is a top contender! Most of the one-dish rice meals are priced very reasonably under RM20 (with good portions too) for a location like this.

Food was great! Where do I even start. The Curry Mee here is special – not only do you get to choose the noodles you want, you can also choose the filling. Whether you fancy clams? Pork meat? Pork skin? Pork balls? They have it all. I opted for clams and pork skin + mee hoon for noodles. It was good, yaw. The broth – it was flavorful in a way that you cant stop slurping it and not overwhelmingly spicy to an extent that your tongue burns – nope, it simply was the right amount, appealingly so. If you are one of those who needs that spicy ‘kick’, then worry not, they do provide you with extra chilli on the side to satisfy your craving. There were plenty of filling – long beans, tau fu pok, pork skin, clams, several other greens – all fresh and chewy, a good addition to the curry mee.

I do have a favourite prawn mee in PJ which I've not gotten round to blogging about coz I've not had that prawn mee in quite a while. However, this is still a very decent prawn mee...but was it better than my favourite prawn mee in PJ? Hmmm....if I remember correctly, that one had a more intense prawn-flavoured broth but I won't commit until I've had a more recent tasting of that prawn mee to confirm that the quality is still as good as when I last tasted it.

Their chilli is one of the signature item that makes the noodle so good - except the spice level went down over the years. I was not able to handle a spoon of chilli before but because they reduced the spiciness, I could definitely handle it now.

The Kong Po Chicken was surprisingly good. Previous try at other kopitiams allowed me to arrive at the conclusion that I should give this dish a pass the next time but for some reason, I wanted to order this dish here. I requested for extra sauce when I gave my order and usually, they tend to forget but not here. Here, they gave it to me and it was plenty enough to last me down to the last mouth. Of course, you would not get the bombastic flavors of a Kong Po chicken that you’d get at a fancy restaurant or cafe but it was good nonetheless. I only wished they added cashews 🙂 but given the cheap $$$ this dish cost – which let me repeat again – only 6.95 ringgit, it was more than good enough, even without the cashews. There was plenty of chicken pieces, chewy and meat with a slightly sweetish gravy that complimented the whole dish well. For the price that I was paying for this dish, it certainly did exceed my expectation.
