We also ordered cantonese fried yee mee. The taste was there and this was the better dish. I would say it was decent. For some reasons, personally I felt the food was average. Maybe there were too many people at that time, I’m not sure.

Verdict: The food we had was just mediocre but I know there are people who love their food but definitely not me. The long waiting time and the uncomfortable dining environment (outdoor seats) most probably the main factors that deter me for a revisit.

One of the signature (and popular) dishes here is the Nasi Ayam (RM55), aka chicken rice. Guests can opt for either roasted or poached chicken. We went for the roasted chicken and I was impressed by the generous portion that arrived. Although I'm glad that the standard of the food has been maintained, the service from the kitchen was far from smooth. The waiting period for our food leaves much to be desired and, if you want to eat here, do not expect your food to arrive in the right order that it should be. It all depends on how busy each individual food station is (steaming station, noodles station, frying station, etc.) with their orders as they seem to churn out food independent of each other. I guess if you choose your timing wisely (like during non lesser peak times), hopefully you may end up with a much better dining experience. ^_* But having said that, the food is still good, some decent but mostly good...plus it still serves one of my favourite XLBs. The only downside, their prices seem to have risen quite significantly but their portions still remain small...even a vegetable dish of pea shoots ("tau miew") can cost RM26....haiz!

My Personal Opinion If you're looking to eat some one-plate rice meals, small stir-fry (siu chow) dishes or fried rice and noodles or big stir-fry (tai chow) dishes with rice in absolute comfort without breaking a sweat (literally) and the bank...this is a top contender! Most of the one-dish rice meals are priced very reasonably under RM20 (with good portions too) for a location like this.

Porridge was smooth and has very clean flavour. Tasted like it was simply salted. Hence, a dash or two of soy sauce is essential. The crispy intestine was enjoyable as well as the other thinly slices parts such as tongue and meat. Maybe because porridge flavour itself was non-heavy nor was it full-bodied, then that allowed the flavour of the raw fish slices to shine through.

This dish consists of fresh crabs cooked in a sweet, savoury and spicy gravy, it is a real treat and best eaten with your hands! Too bad that i have allergy in crab, but don't care! i eat Hainan toast by dipping the tangy gravy because it is too tempting LOL!

I especially liked their fu chuk, it was crispy on one end and chewy on the other. The fish balls were good too. Dipping them into that sweet, thick black sauce was yummy!

The Kong Po Chicken was surprisingly good. Previous try at other kopitiams allowed me to arrive at the conclusion that I should give this dish a pass the next time but for some reason, I wanted to order this dish here. I requested for extra sauce when I gave my order and usually, they tend to forget but not here. Here, they gave it to me and it was plenty enough to last me down to the last mouth. Of course, you would not get the bombastic flavors of a Kong Po chicken that you’d get at a fancy restaurant or cafe but it was good nonetheless. I only wished they added cashews 🙂 but given the cheap $$$ this dish cost – which let me repeat again – only 6.95 ringgit, it was more than good enough, even without the cashews. There was plenty of chicken pieces, chewy and meat with a slightly sweetish gravy that complimented the whole dish well. For the price that I was paying for this dish, it certainly did exceed my expectation.
