The signature dishes here are their Loh Mee, Hokkien Mee, Fish Cake, Fried Fish Balls, Black Pepper Toad and some Eel dishes…
I was largely contented with my meal here at Hock Choon Kee, revisit definitely is a must!
Yessssss, the tom yum coconut cost 40 ringgit, but believe me – it is worth every penny. Actually, 2 people can share one coconut. In each coconut, you would get 8 large king prawns, among other things. You could just add on a plate of rice and there you go – a satisfying main meal. The taste of that tom yum soup is the bomb! It is packed with heat, plenty of spice with a tinge of sweetness – I could just slurp it up all day, no joke.
“ManChengXiang” is a bakery famous for its Heong Peah. In the early days, it was made by hand and then it started to produce Heong Peah by machines in order to keep up with the times. Sweet malt, crispy crust, sesame embellishments, the freshly baked aromatic Heong Peah reminds people of Ulu Yam Lama, good old days.
♥Verdict: A decent choice if you want to have Ulu Yam Loh Mee but of course there’re many other choices in Ulu Yam small town itself.
