The toast was standard – crispy and nice with thick slabs of butter and fragrant kaya. The wanton noodles were qq and black, with the wantons meaty but normal tasting. The Huanghe crossover was like a thick and forward yuan yang. Not bad cafe food, though a bit over-hyped.
Iced coffee (RM 4.90) is fancy and nice. Toast (RM 6) is good, with 2 thick toast (cut into 4). Half boiled egg is done perfectly. The Dry Wanton Noodle (RM 9.20) is harder than the KL version, and..
With the high rating and recommendations in social media, this place is reputable and if you are on a plan visit to Ipoh, it will be a better to visit them earlier and avoid the peak hours.
We came around 7.30am, so there was no crowd and park just in front. The dry curry noodle with chicken is the specialty, nice thick curry. The soup curry is nice too, but the thick curry sauce got..
For noodle, instead of ordering the usual chicken curry and bbp pork, I ordered koay teow which is flat rice noodle with bbq pork and roast pork with thick curry gravy. This is my type of delicious "messy" curry noodle.
This time, instead of my usual curry noodle (dry version), I ordered this curry noodle (soup version) for a change. This is just as good as the dry version.
Kaya Butter Toast (RM 4.80) Since I am looking for some light bites, I ordered their toast bread which comes awesomely good. The toast bread all beautifully toast till perfection and with the light crust. The bread is spread with kaya at one side and Margerine at the other side. Nice.
For those who loves rice and dry curry meat, this will be a good choice.
Curry noodle @ RM 10.80 The red oil gave the impression that it was very spicy. It was not very spicy because my friend, who can't take too spicy food, enjoyed the curry very much. This is one of the best curry noodle we have tasted.
Sun Yuan Foong (famous for Chee Cheong Fun) and Sin Yoon Long (famous for Wantan Mee) next door are "friendly", so you can order food from both shop. This shop is just opposite the super famous Nam..
Sun Yuan Foong is traditional coffee shop in Ipoh Old Town. This coffee shop has been serving aromatic, rich and creamy white coffee for decades. Beside the coffee, a few of delicacies here are good too. To find out more details, please watch this video.
Just look at the jiggly goodness of those soft boiled eggs on top of the toast! This is another one of Ipoh’s famous dishes, as I have never seen eggs on toast like this anywhere else in Malaysia. You sprinkle a bit of pepper/soy sauce on top, break the eggs and watch as the yolk oozes all over the crunchy, buttered toast. Few things in life bring as much pleasure as this hmm The sausages were fat and juicy, and pretty sizable as well.
Prawn Mantis with Chilli Salt (RM21) The prawn mantis was not bad. quite tasty but again the big portion made the price worthwhile.
Once you reach Kafe Yoon Wah, first, you wouldn’t want to miss having their famous icy snow beers priced at RM20.00 each, you can order with the waiter or directly with the beer girls (faster-serving speed) constantly lingering around the restaurant. Once the beer being poured into the cup, the foam immediately crystallizes and become icy (like smoothies), from here onwards, you will need to consume asap so that you can get the best out of it, superb delicious, chilling and refreshing! 😉
I was here the Jalan Bijeh Timah and accidentally dropped to seat opposite 新元华 "Sun Yoon Wah", this one I am having supper and the snow beer is called 元华 "Yoon Wah" and the Beer lady said one is the father and the other is the son's cafe!
Kedai Kopi Ah Chow is one of the oldest coffee shops in all of Ipoh and known for it’s coffee as well as some of the other small stalls of food. Ipoh White Coffee is definitely a different ta…
喝着咖啡酒时酒香味及香浓咖啡味在口中化开,咖啡不醉人人自醉! 好喝。
Our lunch at Panglima 25 Cafe was better than we expected. For the cheap price, we were expecting unremarkable food, but everything we had was tasty and satisfying. The service is a bit indifferent, but the staff are competent and efficient. Kafe Panglima 25 is nothing fancy, just good, simple food.
Overall, the food here good depending on what you order and which is suitable for your taste.
Those who have tasted the coffee said it was good. I didn't order any coffee because my tummy was not feeling good that day.
I ordered a bowl of Ginger egg + home made meat balls to try. The noodle and meat balls covered by the egg and ginger omelette Have to push aside the egg + ginger omelette to reveal the noodle and meat balls. For extra flavour, we requested for additional Chinese wine.
No one will say no to some coffee-sipping and pastries-savouring.
Overall, they have so much potential, and they have added many new items to their new menu! I'll definitely be back for more.
I ordered 2 bowls of Hor Hee noodle. I had the glass noodle (tong fun), while my friend has the flat rice noodle (koay teow). This Hor Hee noodle is quite tasty.
Kedai Kopi Nam Chau is not only about coffee and milk tea, you can also order local dishes such as curry noodle and lam mee.
Steamed Tilapia with spicy sauce and topped with crispy fried lard.
A plate of fried rice which is big for a small portion. We enjoyed this fried rice very much.
Deep fried nam yee chicken wings
We bought Chili pan mee (dry version), served with minced meat, wood fungus, mushrooms, crispy fried anchovies and spicy chili oil. Accompanying the chili pan mee is green veggie in clear soup. Delicious and satisfying breakfast for 2 people.
I enjoyed this bowl of lor mee because the gravy is not too thick. The boss knows that I prefer noodle.
Steamed grouper fish.
Free range chicken cooked with lots of blended ginger in clay pot. This is very flavourful and those who loves ginger would enjoy this dish.
Black Tilapia cooked in a claypot. Very flavourful with lots of garlic and onions
The char kway teow was good. Savoury, well-fried and had a hint of wok-hei.
Now that movement control restriction is more relaxed, we chose this place as we missed the food there. Fried chicken (kon cheen kai) - RM15.
Yesterday evening, we went back to Kopitiam Mun Soon in Taman Boon Bak for dinner. We haven't been here for quite a while and we missed the steamed Tilapia with spicy sauce
Fish Head Curry with assorted vegetables in clay pot
Mixed pork porridge (chu chap chook in Cantonese) Hubby didn't want the blood curd cubes but found them in the porridge. He just leave them in the bowl.
The food was good. As usual our Ipoh favourites: Dry Curry Mee and Yong Tau Foo Liew was thumbs up.
