There is a 20 minutes queue on Friday 9AM. Just take a number and have a stroll at the Kwai Chai Hong next door. The dried curry chicken (RM 12.90) and Curry Chee Cheong Fun (RM 5.80) is pretty..
HO KOW HAINAM KOPITIAM since 1956
Overall, it is good food at Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam Jalan Balai. Is it worth the long queue? Well, if you enjoy local food, great kaya butter toast and a cuppa of Cham, it is worth the queue. Don’t expect extra ordinary food but comfort food at Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam Jalan Balai.
Situated at ICC Pudu, Ah Weng Koh has its own special dining area separated from the food court. We order the special Hainan tea with ice cream, didn't disappoint and worth a try. The toast is good..
Some people say its so so and some say its very good. Again depends on your taste bud.
可以说,来这里用餐,是不会失望而归的。
In the heart of KL, lies an iconic Restaurant Hung Kee famous for their homemade Wantan Mee. Located along the busy Jalan Loke Yew, this old restaurant has b...
Based on my less than satisfactory eating experience at Hung Kee I can safely say I won’t be a returning customer. Even the wantan mee stall a stone throw’s away from my house could whip up better noodles (prepared by locals and not to mention cheaper too) so logically why would I want to eat here ever again?
In the list, I decided to order the weird one which is Onde Onde Coissant Doughnut. It is a bit unique where it had a slight chewy texture as the filling base and the coissant is slightly crips outside. Not too bad though.
Dotty’s Pastries & Coffee TTDI Kuala Lumpur made a name for themselves with salted egg yolk cronut – the croissant x doughnut hybrid pastry filled with irresistible salted egg yolk sauce, along with a long list of delectable treats that we don’t mind having it for either breakfast, lunch, teatime or dinner.
Dotty's have been capturing the hearts of many ever since they launched their famous salted egg yolk cronut. If you have not heard of one, a cronut is basically a kind of croissant-doughnut pastry invented by a pastry chef in NYC
I'm hooked with Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee which is consider one of the world's best coffees. It's taste mild and perfectly balanced. OMG~ this is so delicious! The coffee is sweet with crisp finish when I took a sip of it. One of the world’s superior coffee-growing regions! BEST RECOMMENDED - MUST TRY!!!
Verdict: Jamaica Blue’s selection of coffees unquestionably can satisfy any coffee lovers but as a non coffee drinker, I’m happy with their extensive list of food as well. From breakfast (both savory and sweet), assorted hot meals (pasta, sandwiches, rolls and burgers) to dessert (scones, muffins and cakes), the choices are sufficient to please everyone.
Anyways, we are so blessed to taste one of the best and exclusive coffee for Jamaica Blue's beverages which is Blue Mountain Coffee. It is highly recommendation for those people who love to enjoy their favorite of black coffee as you can visit the Jamaica Blue! When my good friend and I tasted to drink their brand coffee, Long Black, it is quite bitter without any sugar and smell like a very strong aroma of coffee. By the way, it might make us feel energetic after drink this. Overall, it is mild & perfectly balanced and sweet with crisp finish. According to Jamaica Blue, Jamaica Blue Signature Blend is the highly recommendation for the coffee lovers!
Kanteen is a little expensive and I wasn’t blown away by anything we ate. It’s your standard brunch place. However, I can’t argue with its location which is so convenient for me. They have a few dishes that I’m interested to try, so we will likely be back here.
Must-have Asian mains – Steamed Lemongrass Seabass RM28. Signature dish here, also our favourite among the rest of the food we sampled that day. So good we already planning to come back for this with our parents. We know they will like this!
Verdict: Both Prawn Mee & Char Kueh Teow are worth a try but be warned that you may have to wait for table for both weekdays (office crowds) and weekends.
The standard size ckt at MYR 6 nett is a small enough portion for me
Char Kway Teow - MYR 6 nett. I like it because it is those dry type and there is a lot of eggs and beansprout in it. Blood cockles can be added for a fee.
青青 Pandan Republic 的擂茶汤非常浓郁, 份量也很足够, 吃了整个大满足!
Overall, we love the relaxed ambience in Pandan Republic. Will definitely return for their Nyonya kuih.
Pandan Republic 青青真是一家非常有诚意、有特色的咖啡馆。
This place serves one of the rarest noodle dish in the Klang Valley. Charcoal Wok Fried Duck Egg Char Koay Teow is indeed a gem that's usually only found in Penang and Quackteow serves a Halal version of it! How awesome is that? We definitely couldn't resist visit this stall to try it out for ourselves and we're in for a real treat!
They have all kinds of food.
Jemi Cafe is located on the 1st floor of the 4 story shot lot along 109F, opposite Danau Idaman Condominium; generally not a bad cafe except for the peak hours.
I was looking around for a cafe that is reasonably priced in Taman Desa to meet my mentor Andrew Chadbourne and found this gem of a cafe called Jemi Cafe that even has lunch sets and a many types of cakes and coffee. The lunch set cost only RM16.90.
I enjoyed the food at Nutmeg, but it’s just expensive for such small portions. The service is also terrible for such a beloved cafe. There were tons of staff working in this relatively small restaurant, but getting service was surprisingly difficult. It’s like the waiters intentionally avoided looking towards our table. I think the only situation where we would return is for sweets because all of Nutmeg’s cakes looked effing delicious.
这个闪闪发光的咖啡馆本周开放了,这是一个眼睛酸痛的壮丽景象,这是Bangsar的早午餐猎人现在可以知道的一个令人眼花缭乱的地方。
I find the food are very tasty. The drinks i had was just ok, i think i had ice blended green tea.
My favourite by far is the “Tray’s croque madame with roast beef, swiss gruyere, fried egg and gherkins” – RM24. Every bite was pure satisfaction – thick, tasty beef coupled with moist egg plus sweet, salty cheese. … hmm! Be sure to devour this while it is hot.
From café Horchata, java chip latte to an intriguing Pina Colada Bubble Gum coffee, OJO also has the usual mix of juices, lattes and ice blended drinks. Go for the jackfruit cream cake or a slice of peanut butter Valrhona chocolate.
York Cheesecake, awesome!
Overall, I will definitely classify this place as my top spot for coffee when I suddenly crave for one in Pavilion. Life is nothing greater when you have a cup of good coffee to start or end your hectic day. Masa-san's coffee definitely can let me find my own inner peace to relax my mind and soul. Total Damage: RM58.30 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Food Serving Speed: Fast Will I Revisit?: Yes!
You can now find the new swanky Artelier Coffee X Kitchen diagonally next to TWG Tea, adjacent to luxurious brands Moschino and is currently serving moreish home baked cheesecakes, smoothie bowls and quintessentially, its meticulously chosen coffee beans profile.
♥Verdict: The Kopitiam was really packed during our visit and the table arrangement was quite cramped within the space. Apart from the food I shared, there are Chee Cheong Fun, chicken rice, pork noodles, Wonton Mee, Teowchew seafood porridge and seafood noodles (Sang Har Meen).
Hakka mee is also available, and best enjoyed with his “5 treasures beef ball” which comes with tenderloin, tripe, tendon, beef slice and a beef meat ball stuffed with juicy minced beef. You are also given two types of chili: red and green. The difference? The green version is concocted with belacan and spicier too.
My conclusion: Jamaica Blue offers decent food at a competitive price. Their coffee is simply one of the best especially their signature blend coffee and the price point is definitely cheaper than those mainstream brand like 'S' and 'TCB'. Other than Mid Valley, they have four more branches in Klang Valley, one in Seremban, one in Johor Bahru and one in Kuching, Sarawak.
This hot drink is a hot chocolate as it is using white chocolate case and adding a hit of blue curacao syrup to give it a vibrant colour. So that's why it is blue Latte. Once I taste it, it is so sweet. In my opinion, it is very suitable for those people who love sweet and it will make you smile and happy always. What is the best feeling is to enjoy the best coffee with a good companion or your loved one.
Chai Latte (M) was superb. I was trying it for the very first time and I would say that I loved it. Must try for Chai Latte lovers. It has rich chai taste and the right balance of both milk and chai. Yum!! Chai Latte (M) @ RM 15.20
There’s a bowl of noodles with a special place in my heart that has been a constant for more than two decades of my life. Here’s to that.
Anyone who lives in Bangsar would know about this excellent Pan Mee in Chun Heong coffee shop. It’s one of the best things you can still enjoy at a cheap price in this posh neighborhood.
Verdict: It’s an affordable comfort food that’s can be enjoyed anytime. If you’re in the area, you may stop by Mei Sin Kopitiam and give this a try.
This morning I am on for Dry Rat Noodle with mixed fish and meat balls as well as bean curds.
Pork wine noodles at MYR 8.50 nett. The wine is served separately in a small bowl. The porky parts such as liver and kidney have acceptable taste but the broth is just clear soup, not pork bone broth. It even has choy poh (pickled vegetable) in it so I wouldn't call this pork noodles but clear soup noodles with porky parts (ching tong).
Verdict: The Geng Chow Bing which is the pull factor of our visit was good and I highly recommend the Kaya Butter Croissant. Do come here earlier if you wanna try the Nasi Lemak as it was sold out during our visit.
My Personal Opinion Although I've only tried two dishes here, both selection is not something I'd want to eat again. Perhaps I made the wrong choices or perhaps I should have gone with something more local like Salmon Bungkuih (RM26.50) with marinated salmon wrapped in banana leaves served with nasi telang (blue-tinged rice), vegetables, sambal and keropok (crackers). From what I see on their Facebook, their very reasonably-priced weekday set lunch menu (mainly local dishes, changes every week) at RM15 & RM17 looks far more enticing to me.
Mun KL is a new cafe that opened earlier this year in Bandar Sri Permaisuri.
