Folks and Stories is one of those underrated local baking studios that definitely deserves more recognition.
An old school stall relocated from Tanglin Halt. The Lotus Seed Thick Soup had a bit of bite and was tender without being mushy, and had a slight fragrance and was not overly sweet. Subtle dessert.
Among the three desserts that I have tried that day, this is my favorite. The beans have a good bite and texture to it.
We had all four this time round and never felt the surfeit from sweetness.
Smooth, creamy, syrupy and somewhat coconut milky green bean soup, full of flavours of yore or 古早味.
Ingredients seem to have lessened through out the years. Or perhaps it's just inconsistency - I don't eat from this stall enough to know.
Very normal, slightly heavy pancakes. And I thought matcha cream wasn’t quite suitable to be used in a mont blanc swirl – slightly too heavy in term of flavour.
One of their most hyped-up options are the Mont Blanc Pancakes ($18), which features a stack of fluffy pancakes garnished with an avalanche of matcha mousse, matcha mont blanc (chestnut-flavoured) sauce, fresh cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ice On You definitely brings something different to the table. They also have interesting creations every now and then so there is a variety on the menu.
