Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Pasta RM25 Personally, we enjoyed their Salted Egg Yolk Prawn Pasta. Generous portion, with rich, flavourful salted egg yolk sauce thickly coated to strands of fettuccine. Cooked together with fresh, bouncy de-shelled prawns, finished with crispy anchovies, home-grown edible flowers and micro leaves garnishing. Recommended.

HOJICHA SOUFFLÉ (MYR 19) Served with salted caramel or osmanthus maple syrup, and a choice of grapefruit or honeydew calamansi sorbet. Tuesday, 29 November 2016 Thursdvys @ Taman Tun Dr Ismail My morning class was cancelled, SO GOOOD!!! The lazy us decided to have tasty breakfast before our afternoon class. We choose Thursdvys as it is located along our way to college. Thursdvys is located at TTDI, Kuala Lumpur (Next to Torii). We were greeted upon entering and the staff seated us in the 2pax table. Once seated, she gave us the menu to browse through. You have to order and pay at the counter. I ordered Babas Breakfast Set and Aglio Olio Pasta. A couple of people occupied the cafe when we arrived at 12pm but it was filling up for lunch. The ambiance of the cafe was good, bright and welcoming. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas for the customer. Breakfast set is served with complimentary coffee/ tea. Flat White was milky and velvety, it's like drinking a milk coffee. Yummy!! Aglio Olio Pasta was super duper yummy. A lovely combination of fresh garlic, shallots, parsley, capsicum, beef bacon, prawns tossed in olive oil. A simple yet delicious dish. Breakfast set is served with Scramble Egg, Beef Bacon, Toast, Sautéed Mushroom, Hash Brown, Tomato and Beans. The scramble egg was creamy and fluffy, beef bacon was good and the mushroom was fresh and flavourful. For me, everything in the place was perfect. Breakfast set @ RM 26 Overall, it was a perfect breakfast for us. Super delicious foods, pleasant service and lovely environment. What can I ask for more? It's just perfect for me. Second visit? A BIG YES for me!!

Lychee Cupcake, 10 ringgit. The cupcake was ummmm rather unusual in flavor, it certainly took some getting use to. Normally, I would have gone for their chocolate, peanut butter or even their coffee cupcake but I was told that this particular flavor was their popular one. Would I order it again though? Not this particular one. The texture and all was awesome but for me – lychee and cupcake, no way. It is their popular cupcake but I do not take a fancy to it. The Ice Chocolate with Coconut Milk is apparently a crowd favorite, hence why I decided to give it a try. It was something different. With every sip you’d taste, the taste of chocolate will hit you first. then the taste of coconut and it ends with the taste of slight bitterness from the small bits of dark chocolate scattered around. If you are the kind of person who liked your chocolate drink thick, you most probably would not enjoy this drink as much as due to the use of coconut milk, it is just a tad lighter, waterier than the usual. However, if you fancy a chocolate drink with a twist, do consider this combination. It is different, refreshing and makes for a good drink to quench your thirst. It was not too sweet, it had just the right amount. I most probably would still stick to the regular chocolate with cows milk but if I fancy something a lil different – I’d go for this.

The Battle For Peace-Tachio, 18 ringgit. This was delicious. A perfect blend of sponge, mousse and couli. Do not let the chocolate exterior fool you into thinking this would be a chocolate sweet delight. Nope. It is more of a delicious mix of bitter sweet delight. The chocolate had a bitterness to it that complemented the chocolate mouse and pistachio filling. The raspberry couli provided a sour ‘kick’ that to the sweet and bitterness of this dessert. It is different but decadent and delicious. Loved it.

Laduree - Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Restaurant

Lot 3.32, Level 3 Pavilion Kuala Lumpur 168 Bukit Bintang 55100 Kuala Lumpur

It all began in 1862, when Louis Ernest Ladurée, a miller from France’s southwest, created a bakery in Paris at 16 rue Royale. The beginning of this century found Paris wrapped up in a frenzy of distraction and going out in public. Louis Ernest Ladurée’s wife, Jeanne Souchard, had the idea of mixing styles: The Parisian café and pastry shop gave birth to one of the first tea salons in town. The story of the Ladurée Macaroon starts in the middle of the 20th century with Pierre Desfontaines, who first thought of taking two macaroon shells and joining them with a delicious ganache filling. The reputation of this ‘salon de thé’ created an environment for gastronomic creativity in Paris.

It was at the height of the macaron craze, when we had our first taste of the world-renowned Laduree macarons in Paris. We fell in love with both the salted caramel and rose flavour, and have been lusting after them ever since. Fast forward to four years later, Laduree has finally arrived in Malaysia. They recently opened their doors at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, bringing sweet treats and delicious desserts to our shores.

I have eaten a few macarons in KL but always find them to be too sweet so I do not understand why they are so popular. Then I read that the best macarons are made by Laduree in France so I told myself that if I ever visit Paris again, I am going to try the macarons at Laduree. Near the end of November this year, Laduree is finally available in KL at the Pavilion Mall so I do not need to fly to Paris to taste their macarons.

They have introduced Fruit series as their menu for now and I heard that the menu will be changed from time to time so that the customer won’t be bored with the choices. We had a chance to try this month’s special: Fruit Series (Pear). It consists of Chocolate, Pear Ganache Montee, Pear Gel & Fresh Pear Cube. We loved it. The sweetness was well balanced and there’s nothing to hate about this dessert. Pear @ RM 21

Nevertheless, we popped by not solely for Pokemon. It was a friend's birthday and we decided to just chill for tea. I've ordered the Sweet Potato Cake and the Salted Caramel Bingsu. Not too bad, in fact I love the cake! The savoury food did not appeal much from the menu, could give it a try next time.

The food is delicious. There is plenty of food and drinks to choose from. The staffs are warm and friendly (Thank you for helping me charge my phone when the battery was really low). The atmosphere is lively and comfortable. I enjoyed listening to the music while enjoying my drink and reading a book. Although the price for the meal was a little bit expensive (around RM30 – 80), I wouldn’t mid going there again once in a while. I would go there just for desserts.

I ordered the Cendol Kacang because I loveeeee them red beans and my friend ordered the one with pulut. Here, what you order is what you’d get. Both dishes came with some shaved ice + a generous amount of Gila Melaka + green flour mini noodles. The difference is the red bean and pulut. Having tasted both, while I liked both – the Cendol Pulut is definitely my favorite.

The desserts here in Tanuki by Crustz are pretty decent and super Instagrammable. Even though the price for each dessert is relatively high but the quality of the dessert indeed assured! Even my hubby, who is not a very huge fan of dessert, has surprisingly approved!

Almond Pistachio Ice Cream. – almond sponge, crunchy base, meringue, chantilily @ RM 18 . Love the top layer of the crust as it is caramelize, very fragrant and those nuts are fried to perfection. Not too sweet but well balance. Follow by the ice cream where you get a hint of almond first then end with mild pistachio after taste. The base is perfect as it is crispy to my liking. At least 8 elements of flavour in this. Interesting as it is also a alochol ice cream cake. (it has mild alcohol taste in this which I cant taste it out).
