As for the bobatea, they have a variety of the milk tea, fruit tea, cold brew tea, and many more. We have the Hamsup millk tea ( RM 10.90) where the boba milktea is served with the light seasalt in it. I love the milk tea flavours that comes simply aromatic with the hint of saltiness in it. The boba comes simply chewy too. And I love how they packaged the tea overall.

Unagi Omurice – RM22, Pumpkin & raisin fried rice topped with Japanese omelette and grilled unagi, ebiko and nori flakes. The unagi was pan fried until golden crisp and full of pan aroma, it was then covered with teriyaki sauce and Japanese omelette. One of the highlights that captured my attention was the rice was fried with pumpkin and raisin that made it taste naturally sweet and unique.

We tried the Smoked Duck Mazemen (RM 14) and was delighted with its taste. Though smaller in portion, the noodles texture was al-dente with nice springiness and it has an elusive taste. Then the bowl is topped with nicely done smoked duck, along with ramen egg, sauteed mushrooms, tempura bits, steamed corn, spring onion and tori to give it a complete set of nutrients.

Well, we choose Kim Haus Spaghetti Aglio Olio Chicken (RM 22.90) and it did not disappoint. Spaghetti noodles were cooked to al-dente and was seasoned nicely with a hint of spiciness, then garnished with olives. We were surprised to see generous quantity of big chicken cutlets were served. It was great but the entire presentation or experience would have been better if the chickens were cut into smaller slices. Overall it was a great spaghetti.

The filling of the savoury pastry was alright, having crispy crust and soft filling but the roasted pork was too hard and dried to enjoy. Perhaps changing into the conventional cheese + bacon topping would be better.

M'atural is serious when it comes to Apple Crumble... real Apple is used. The Green Apple was cut and stuffed with custard-like filling and topped with Crumble. It was then baked till golden brown but the crispiness of the fruit remained; safe but straight-forward combination. The sweetness comes from the Honey, a healthy sweet treat that could go well with a cup of Tea.

Swap your cup of Coffee for a glass of freshly blended fruit juice at this young Juice Bar a stone's throw distance away from the famous mural at Armenian Street. If you are familiar with the name, you have probably visited Juice Code as it was previously few shops away from its present location (opposite to the fire station). The 6 month-old brand does not offer healthy options like Cold Pressed Juice but a mix of Ice Blended fruits... they entice you with colors! Though they do not serve main, they do have a small Waffle menu (available in sweet or savory options) to please the dessert lover in you. The interior has a light industrial vibe with relaxing atmosphere but the search for a parking space can be a painful journey, especially on holidays.

When I see Eclair, I am all excited over it. I have yet found a nice one yet in Malaysia. Quite disappointing as the texture is hard, dry and not soft with slight chewy. It could be that the Patisserie had been left in the fridge for long time, to give this effect.

Cool off at Ice Cafe, one of the latest hit in Penang that takes the definition of 'cool' to a whole new level. If the idea of freezing yourself while enjoying a serving of icy cold sweet treat intrigues you, you should really check it out. Ice Cafe is situated on the second floor of a building along Victoria Street (above Phantamania Penang); as you walk up the stairs, you will notice that the stickers are indicating that there's a drop in temperature. True enough, we felt the cold breeze blowing right smack to our face as we walked up. Soon, you will arrive at the entrance to Ice Cafe that resembles castle door. Push the door open and you will find yourself in a magical land of ice with igloo, ice bed, and everything cold but they are real though, those are just for decorative purposes. While it did indicate that the temperature was around 10 degree Celsius, we did not think it was that cold, probably a little lower than 20 degree Celsius. The entrance to Ice Cafe is free but visitors are expect to at least order a drink or icy treat during the stay at the cafe.

We were amazed by the quality of the 1/2 Roasted Moroccan Chicken... grilled to perfection and the skin was brushed with Balsamic reduction, slightly sweet but with a bitter end (due to the singed skin). The meat was fork-tender and perfectly good on its own but even better to enjoy with Sea Salt or a tangy Thai Green Chili dip.

Long Cha Guan's Nasi Lemak seems to be very popular. Served using a bamboo steamer, the Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken set consists of a Rendang Chicken Thigh, sunny side up, Fried Anchovies, home-made Sambal and some crisp Crackers. Hakuna Matata's Cheese Cake was a little gelatinous but the cheesy-element was not discounted. It was creamy and rich, just the way we like. The cookie base was a little too hard to our liking though. To beat the tropical heat, the Passion Fruit Jelly would be a nice choice. The natural acidic of Passion Fruit cuts through the sweetness, making it the perfect thirst quencher. To complete your afternoon, pair it with the zesty Mojito Matata Mocktail.

Muffle-aside, this Ice Cream cafe offers creamy sweet treats in decadent flavors; notable ones include Black Doris Plum, Passion Fruit and Lemon Curd, Honey Comb, Rose & French Vanilla, Pulut Hitam etc. It does not serve any mains here, merely a dessert-focused menu centering Ice Creams. Ditch the pretentious and hipstery desserts and go back to the classic ones, find your traditional Chinese elixir at Li Bao Tang (立寶堂), a brand dedicated to serve timeless Chinese sweet treats that are believed to carry medicinal health effects. The brand has long-established in Penang and has been churning out Chinese Herbal Tea or Gui Ling Gao (龟苓膏) but their recent expansion has an interesting twist to it. The newly opened branch at Armenian Street (opposite the famous "little children on bicycle" mural) brings you back to Hong Kong in 1960's. Not only that it is well-furnished with fancy wallpapers, it has some real gadgets to enhance the experience too. Expect to see some retro saloon setup and a fashionably nostalgic Mahjong table with a spittoon placed next to it; while they have nothing to do with the food, it sure adds some marks to the dining experience. Though the menu seems great, more than of the items are not available (at least they were not available on my visit). If variety is not what you seek for, it's a fun place to visit and to have your share of the nourishing and invigorating Tong Sui.
