Tempat makan paling dekat adalah Makan Avenue. Food court ala-ala hipster terletak di tebing sungai. Jalan kaki je sepanjang riverwalk tu. If datang naik kereta pun ada parking disediakan. Ramai orang datang sini bawak famili. Tapi aku perhati orang Melaka ni bagus, patuh SOP.

We enjoyed the majority of the food, though I suspect I might struggle to find new dishes there if we were to return. But for a group, particularly a large one, it’s a decent addition to the Melaka dining scene. Make sure you stress in the invitation that you are going to the hawker centre, not the restaurant, or people might turn up very overdressed!
As simple as it looks, it’s actually tasty and comforting to eat on a day when you just want something simple. There are plenty of places you can get duck noodle but Soon Yen coffee shop is a good start for a promising experience.
Kedai Kopi & Makanan Soon Yen is a hawkers centre selling local Melaka and Malaysia food such as Nyonya Laksa. Its duck noodle stall is also popular here.
A serving of siham or lala (it’s actually kepah) is priced at RM2 and you get just enough shellfish to fill the plate. Their dipping sauce, which is inarguably the distinguishing element for this kind of food, is excellent. It is still prepared traditionally with prawn paste (instead of sweet sauce), lime juice, chili boh and crushed peanuts. What you get is a rich, sweet and spicy dip that accentuates the flavor of the shellfish.
