I'm not sure if these guys have anything to do with the previous stall or even the Baguo folks next door, but a chuanr shop now occupies Shandong Helemian's old spot at 313@Somerset. It wasn't very good, unfortunately. The lamb was tough, the string beans were doused in a sweet soy sauce, and the potatoes were still a little raw. But hey, at least we're starting to see more chuanr popping up food courts.

8 reviews of Food Republic "I would have thought that I might not find this kind of spicy food after a 2004 Beijing Hot Pot experience with a now Elite Yelp member ( yes the same one mentioned earlier in another review of mine). But I was wrong.…
Tangs Food Court (a.k.a. Tangs Market) is the small food court in the basement of Tangs department store at Orchard Road. It may not have widest selection of hawker food, but to us, it is possibly the nicest food court in Orchard, Singapore. Here is a quick look at the stalls available there.
Tasted much like the one I had at Nam Kee which kinda figures since both Tangs Market and Nam Kee are run by Fei Xiong.
The prices are reasonable and if we overeat, we can walk off the calories by more shopping in Tangs.

We headed back this time and got ourselves a plate of their charcoal grilled chicken thigh rice and satay.
Eggs looked a little underdone but was salvaged by a surprisingly fragrant dark soy sauce. Coffee was flat and unremarkable.
The highly popular Kam’s Roast is now coming to the heart of Orchard! The brand is launching Kam’s Roast Express, and the concept marks its first foray into a food court.
Most of the stalls at the ION Orchard food court were closing by the time I arrived tonight. But I really, really wanted some thin soup, and these local beef noodle guys were still open. It's a good thing too, since this was delicious.
It seems that this used to be a stall from Yishun called My Home Cafe, and they have since moved to the Food Republic food court at 313@Somerset.
The turmeric was a fun touch, but the texture of the fish was a bit tough, and I wish that they didn't put iceberg lettuce in here either. I also prefer the more purist version of a crisp fish-based broth. I'm not exactly yearning to go back as a result, but it was interesting to try this variant at least.
That EatAlley food court at the basement of Orchard Gateway doesn't look like anything special at a quick glance...until you realize that those seven stalls are actually from Kuala Lumpur. It seems that the dude behind PappaRich was a regular at these stalls back home and decided to bring them down here. Cool!

That means that I won't be coming back, especially since most of the dishes here are rather expensive.
