There is a Sendakan stall right next to Jiakali at Chinatown Complex Food Centre (335 Smith Street #02-254), where I grabbed this fried pork hor fun.

Every item was good, with the only exception being the noodles having a slight kee or alkaline flavour, although this was made up for by the outstanding sauce made of dried shrimps and kelp.
Maxwell Food Centre is one of those rare hawker centers in Singapore that is highly popular with tourists and at the same time, is held in high esteem by locals for its authentic and traditional hawker dishes. The main reason for this is that Maxwell Food Centre is the current home of a myriad of...…
A trip to Maxwell to da bao brought us to some of our favorites and some new experiences too. China Street Fritters and their Ngoh Hiang, Liver Rolls, Egg Slice and Sausage with Bee Hoon.
Nice. The rendang was nutty and lemak
chwee kueh, taman jurong, food, singapore, taman jurong market & food centre,
The springy noodle is tossed in a sauce with a subtle savoriness that pleases my palate. The chili, in particular, possesses a umami flavor that elevates the taste of the noodle. Service here is prompt and efficient but perhaps that is because I arrived just before the lunch crowd does.
Cai Ji Ke Kou Mian is located in Taman Jurong Market and Hawker Center.
I am back at Alexandra Village Hawker Centre! To be honest, I didn’t know it’s pretty near my workplace; just a short bus ride away and I ca...
It's one of the most popular stalls at Alexandra Village (judging by the constant queue), touted by influencers as the best soya sauce chicken in Singapore, awarded the Michelin Plate, owned by ex-Raffles Hotel chef and all.
Alexandra Village food centre is a place that is known for avocado juice. It is a available from quite a few stalls and people sipping this fruit juice out of disposable containers is a common sight in this place.
Ghim Moh Food Centre with some 50 stalls is popular with local residents and also with workers from office blocks nearby because it has many good food stalls.
I will be returning again to check out their Penang style prawn mee.
You should come have a taste for yourself and let me know what you think?
Quite average. Quite mushy, although silky, and the sauce was lightly savoury and tasty.
I started patronizing Old Airport Road Hawker Centre only after I secured my driving license back in year 2005 and back then; there were jus...
Whitley Road Big Prawn Noodle at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre and char siew rice from Ah Yee Hong Kong Roasted were the yummy local delights that we ended up eating when we were in the Mountbatten MRT Station vicinity recently.
The red, hot chilli sambal was potently spicy and left a burning sensation on my tongue, even though it dissipated rather quickly. If you like, you can even get a tub of sambal at just S$4.00! p.s. I don't know how big is one tub.
A good number of stalls were open. Those that were closed in the day were mainly the seafood stalls.
Pu Xin is worth a visit by virtue of their unique Putien-style Lor Mee, but Chef Ming urges everyone to give their Zha Jiang Mian a try. Anything else you order is a bonus!
85 Redhill has a saury fishball option at a one dollar premium. And it's worth it for that additional bit of grittiness and stankiness.
I normally avoid queues. Mostly. Say 95% of the time. For some reasons, I was drawn to this particular ba chor mee stall (#01-80 Redhill Food Centre, 85 Redhill Lane) which had a queue.
2 reviews of Red Hill Food Centre "This hawker centre in Redhill houses all the best hawker food Singapore has to offer. If you can find your way to Newton Centre (by the way, a well documented tourist trap) you can find your way to Redhill Close…
For its price, the waffles here are undeniably a steal. On top of all that, they also offer other bakes such as croissants and madeleines.
Wah Fushia color CCF, so here I am! Grandpa Homemade Cheong Fun is located at Toa Payoh West Market & Food Centre.
Despite how sweet it was, I still ate it all. And I'd be happy to eat it again if it were nearby. But the sweetness also means that it won't be my first choice, which for now is still the Tekka Centre stall.
Wah Kee Wanton Noodles is one of the popular stall in Bendemeer Hawker & Food Center. Try out the Char Siew yourself.
Recently we learnt from social media that this stall in Bendemeer Market & Food Centre makes Soon Kueh on the spot and we decided to check the Kuehs out.
What to eat in Bendemeer Market & Food Centre with $2? Perhaps you can give this a try!
I wasn't completely sure what Hainan fen was, which was precisely why I decided to give it a try at the newly renovated People's Park Food Centre (32 New Market Road #01-1100).
The duck did not have any crispy skin either. Apparently the third generation from Toh Kee, which closed on 1 Feb 2020 and is now revived by the grandson and ex head chef.
Meat was reasonably tender with full flavoured skin and some bits of fat.
I enjoyed it.
Fortunately, the saving grace is their super tangy chicken rice chili which makes everything on the plate easier to swallow.
Like Teochew herh keow, these "UFO" oyster cakes are really one of those things that really deserve more attention. Mine was still warm from this stall (166 Jalan Besar #02-34), and it was not just delightfully briny, but was also filled with the heft of minced meat and earthy greens inside.
Tiong Bahru Lor Mee is located in Tiong Bahru Market and known for their Fish Nuggets which are in the dish. Unfortunately, for me, the gravy is pretty plain and lacked flavor. I know it has a good…
Not a bad plate of chai tow kway. I liked that there were some crusty caramelized bits on some of the edges.
Overall, being a true blue Singaporean, such simple and straight forward breakfast is nothing more than comfortable to me. I will not mind having such traditional Cantonese Porridge frequently with so many varieties around.
I don't know if these guys are really from Joo Chiat, but that was the name of the new stall number 28 at Zion Riverside Food Centre.
I'm not entirely clear on the difference between white kway teow and Penang kway teow, but I assume that this is just char kway teow without the dark soy sauce. It still had those Chinese sausages in there, and I liked that this one from Riverside Good Food was peppery and featured some extra greens. But I'll probably stick to their Hokkien mee.
I'm pretty sure that I've eaten at this stall before (70 Zion Road #01-20). But I've really only taken notice now that I've become a bigger fan of Hokkien mee in recent days.
My god – 40 min queue at lunchtime on a Sun. Recommended by Johor Kaki, with the founder located here. Super nolstagic thick ketchup noodles, with the noodles nicely soft, a spring onion and pork lard fragrance, and generous crispy pork lard. The fishballs were super big, and had a bit of fish meat/bone texture and fish flavour while still soft and springy, in a refreshing clear soup. Nice.
It was good enough that we finished the whole bowl, but I left unsatisfied, without even touching a second bowl of rice like I thought I would.

Best Of Singapore Hawkers & Casual Dining: Fish Soup And Fish Porridge Fish Soup And Fish Porridge
The fried Hokkien mee caught my eye, but it was kind of dry when served and also I expect more ingredients for the $4 portion. There were a couple of prawns, fish cake and sotong in it. There was also no wok hei and pork lard which was essential for Hokkien mee.
