Tom’s City Zoom Mee Pok Tar in Ghim Moh market makes an interesting noodle dish. Fried Dumplings, Fish Cakes, Fishballs all in a delicous sauce. Yes, more for me please!
Ghim Moh folks' favourite, a nice re-interpretation of the old staple minced pork noodle by a young hawker.
The fishballs were very nice and clearly handmade, with good flavour, texture, bite and some uneveness. Moist inside and crunchy outside. The noodles with vinegar were well cooked and refreshing. Well worth the queue.
It looks like the Banting folks have moved over near Mohamed Sultan (223 River Valley Road). What's more interesting is that from Sundays to Tuesdays, they serve this "dry style Thai noodle," and it's pretty good, especially with those super fresh and piping hot prawns, as well as the chewy noodles underneath, all perfumed with the pleasant scent of kaffir lime.
Tasty and hearty handmade noodles. The noodles were good quality and springy, as were the ingredients such as the meatballs, ikan bilis and comfortably spicy chilli.
Although I only managed to try their signature dishes on this visit, I’ll be back for more!
On paper, that sounded like a good thing. But in the process of getting it so crispy, it was also rather burnt...so much that all I could taste was burned potato, even if I tried covering it up with that sour cream. I don't think I'll get that again.
I don't think I'll get that again.
The 6ixs gets rosti right. And for under $10 a serving with a thick cake of rosti and a protein on the side, we think it’s well worth it.
An excellent BBQ beef brisket burger. I remember being previously disappointed by their overly-dry cheese burger. No such issues here – the shredded beef brisket was moist, possessed a good and multi-dimensional barbeque sauce flavour, and came together very nicely.
So yes, if you haven’t had a Burgs burger yet, you’re really missing out. Substantial portions. Incredible prices. Delicious buns. Comforting meal. What are you guys waiting for? 😆
GOLD 905 DJ Denise kicks off a brand new Makan Kakis series with CNA Lifestyle to find the yummiest local food in Singapore. This week: Absolutely divine appam!
I definitely wouldn't mind eating again if I'm ever back.
The portions at Huang Da Fu are generous, ingredients used are fresh, kept me full and most importantly, tastes good.
If I had to describe it with just one word, it would be 'satisfying'.
Didn't taste bad. Didn't dislike it.
Rice tasted like chicken rice but again, there're better chicken rice around. Their tangy chilli.....salsa was not bad though.
The size of these curry puffs is quite small.
