As one of the most famous hawker centres in Singapore, Serangoon Gardens Market & Food Centre has good ventilation, varied mix of stalls and generally high quality of options.
Serangoon Gardens has two food centres: Chomp Chomp hawker centre and Serangoon Gardens Market & Food Centre. It is a food paradise for Singapore hawker food.
Food at Zuzu Kebab is Turkish cuisine, with a focus on kebabs. There's a good range of options here, though most folks order the staples.
Despite the waiting time, Zuzu Kebab delivers quality food that is also generous in portion. With so many other options to try on the menu, I’m 100% making a return to give the rest of them a go one at a time!
The noodles were cooked till soft and full of the mushroom sauce flavour, coupled with freshly stewed and sweet mushrooms and crunchy pork lard. The soup was the key here, cloudy and rich and comforting, and full of ingredients (although some may feel that it’s a bit too salty) while the noodles was a bit average in comparison.

Recommended by Johor Kaki. The egg noodles were apparently handmade, and was thicker than usual, soft and slightly crunchy to the bite. The Malaysian black sauce was tasty and lent a savoury but not overly heavy touch. Both the wanton and fried dumplings had a savoury orb of meat within, with the wanton smooth and fried dumpling crispy. The char siew was traditional, thick, lean and sweet, and the soup sweet of anchovies. Something I would eat often if I was living nearby.
The orh luah was the soft rather than crispy type. It had a very pleasant eggy flavour, with the fragrance of fish sauce, and was not cloying at all. The oysters were big and fresh – solid stuff. The chilli was a nice complement to the orh luah – sweet and slightly piquant, with just a hint of spiciness. The only drawback here was that there was a bit pooling of oil/sauce at the bottom. Nice.
My only regret is that I didn’t get the chance to try the roasted duck but the roasted pork belly is definitely worth a trip!
