I accompany my friends who wanted to eat lunch at Kim Gary, Midvalley Mall. I ordered a set lunch of beef steak pasta with black pepper sauce at MYR 14.90+ (10% service tax = MYR 16.40 nett) which included soup and drink. I kept half of the pasta for dinner but ate all the steak as the beef steak is just two thin slices of beef marinated in black pepper sauce. I left most of the sauce uneaten.
When we walked out of the restaurant, we noticed that there was a long queue waiting to get in as always. I think there is always a long queue because the price for the sets is quite good and there are many lunch set choices but as the food is too flavouful for me, I seldom eat here unless my friends wanted to have their meals here.
A nourishing bowl of double-boiled papaya with Tremella will be good if you are looking for a warm dessert.
Chicken sam sou soup. Dine-in 16 on Wednesday 16 Sep 2020 d183.
Dry wanton mee with char siew, sui gao and wanton at MYR 17.90++ (MYR 20.76 nett). Taste ok.
Siew Mai at MYR 10.40 nett for 3 is one of the better siew mai around. The pork ribs with black bean at MYR 9.20 nett is acceptable
Wanton soup at MYR 15.90++ (MYR 18.55 nett). There are 6 wanton dumplings in this soup so that means it is about MYR 3.10 for 1 wanton, about the price of a piece of sushi but each wanton contains one whole prawn so I guess it is somewhat worth it. The prawns taste fresh too. Next time I will take a photo of the cross section of the wanton to show the whole prawn in it.
Overall, our experience at Man Kee HK Beef Noodle was nothing short of satisfying. From the cozy ambiance to the hearty fare, everything met our expectations.
