One of the nicer ice cream around Puchong, besides Inside Scoop. Love the big waffle and large scoop.
The muffle's texture is like banana cake. Still tasty and filling, we pick strawberry cheesecake ice-cream.
While I enjoyed Piccoli Lotti, I couldn’t help but draw comparisons to the other local gelato/ice-cream brand, Inside Scoop. I think they’re both unique, since the flavours they offer are different – but taste-wise, I think Inside Scoop still wins in my book. It’s not to say that Piccoli Lotti isn’t good, but based on what we tried, their flavours seem to be a bit more subtle, whereas Inside Scoop tends to have stronger, creamier flavours, which I prefer.
Sis says Inside Scoop 🍨🍦 is the best.
I also prefer the classics, so it was a combo of Vanilla Bean and Valrhona Dark Chocolate for me. At Inside Scoop, all of their ice creams are handcrafted from scratch in small batches with no artificial flavourings or preservatives – and you can really tell from the taste. It’s creamy but not cloying, and definitely not too sweet. Lovers of dark chocolate will like the Valrhona because its thick, dark and rich, and pairs perfectly with the sweeter Vanilla Bean.
The waffle isn't made of charcoal per say, merely infused with it. I don't find that it taste any different/weird. The salted egg yolk sauce, on the other hand, was rather unique. We were given a choice of either this or caramel. Wanting to be adventurous, I opted for this and regretted it slightly. Not only did it not pair (very) well with the waffle, the sweet ice cream also didn't particularly taste good with it. I blame it on the whole savory-sweet combo.
Dessert, or booze? Why choose, when you can have both? Newly opened at Le Pavillion in Bandar Puteri Puchong, The Ice Cream Bar serves artisanal ice cream infused with alcohol, with boozy creations the likes of Rum & Raisin and Bailey’s Original Ice Cream Liqueur. This is the brand’s latest outlet, after successful stints in Hartamas, 1Utama, and Seapark.
IDC offers a comfortable and cozy setting for those who like a quite place for Ice Cream and Coffee.
Have you ever been to IDC or Ice Dreams Cafe in Damansara Kim, Selangor? They’re known for serving various Kapiti ice cream flavours as well as delicious han...
The Ice Latte was awesome here. It was thick, milky and ‘kaw’ and by ‘kaw’ I mean – strong. It hits you on all the right spots. Loved it.
Serve the best toast with ice-cream.
8.5/10. Personally, a little bit steep in price, but I absolutely love it! The taste of the desserts always keeps me coming back for more. To be honest, I’m always shocked by how good that Matcha lava cake is, and the toast NEVER disappoints!
Miru's Strawberry Cheesecake Kakigori was impressive... the ice was silky smooth and fine while the Strawberry 'syrup' was carefully sweetened. It did not feel very 'artificial' and we trust real Strawberries have been used in the making of the 'syrup'. Just as you dig further and getting monotonous on the 'syrup' and 'shave ice' combo, there will be cubed Cheese Cake to further entice you. Though not exactly the best Cheese Cake, it provides a good bite and a fine touch to the icy treat.
After a satisfying dinner at Super Big Don House, we dropped by Softsrve for dessert
Fun Fair (RM12), with oolongcha flavoured soft serve. We weren't really expecting the dry ice smoking effects as I thought that it was only for bestsellers. It was cool though, and the popping candy really gave it the extra tingle.
Something a little more solid would be the Crispy and Fluffy Waffle (RM 15) which by the way isn’t the best waffle ever but managed to redeemed its reputation with none other than their soft serve and sauce of your choice (in this case is match sauce since WendLi , the matcha queen is one of the partner in crime this time around). This one is served with chopped nuts and berries.
Eventually, we opted to try one of the dessert on display, specifically Lucky Koi. The combination of ingredients in this specific dessert (oolong rice ice cream + peach sorbet + goji berry muesli crunch + lychee glaze) was appealing and yummy. There was a burst of flavors and textures – the tanginess from the berries, the crunch from the muesli and the unique sweetness from the creamy ice cream. We enjoyed it.
Overall, it's a really cool dessert place.
Top-notch, one of the best ice cream I had in 2019. "Delicieux" in French!
Waffle with 2 scoops - MYR 17.50 nett add MYR 1 nett for the pistachio premium flavour. The pistachio flavour is very rich and nice. Arabica Brasil flavour has a slight bitter coffee taste. The gelato is not that sweet and is very smooth but not slippery oily so the texture is very nice.
Since we had a cup of ice-cream the first time we visited, we had waffles this time round! On the left, Lychee & Mint Sorbet. On the right, Caramel Cookies (no prizes for who picked this one wtf). Drizzled with light chocolate syrup, the waffle is light and easy to be eaten. The ice-cream is the major winner though. IT MELTS SO SLOWLY!! I think I’m a pretty slow eater but by the time I was finished my waffle piece there was still a solid chunk of ice-cream on it!
The price might be pricey but you don’t eat alcoholic ice cream everyday right?
Constantly I am there for their alcohol flavored as the price is very decent as compare to many of softserve or ice cream parlor out there. Still this is my bench mark and their alcohol series especially with Singleton its a great choice to order. One of their regular there and do bare in mind that their customer service can be down the drain.
The Ice Cream Bar by the famous ice cream parlour, Inside Scoop is now serving artisanal ice creams. In addition to the "normal" ice cream flavours, they also have a range of alcoholic ice cream flavours.
My personal favourite is Miso (RM17), which is only available on Sundays. The cake is made with layers of miso caramel cream, miso crème brulee, white chocolate mousse, almond sponge and chocolate sable Breton. The miso lends the dessert a slight saltiness, so the sweetness is not overpowering.
The desserts here in Tanuki by Crustz are pretty decent and super Instagrammable. Even though the price for each dessert is relatively high but the quality of the dessert indeed assured! Even my hubby, who is not a very huge fan of dessert, has surprisingly approved!
If you fancy something non alcoholic, sweet, creamy and flavorful, then this could be the one for you. Monkey Business is all about Banana Bread, Pecan and Dates. I dont know how they do it but you’d be able to taste all the flavors in it. Very nice, I liked it.
Licky Chan is the newest and hippest ice-cream parlour in KL! They offer unique flavours - some boozy, some vegan.
First – a scoop of Monkey Business in a cone (RM9.80). It’s non-boozy, very creamy with bits of banana bread, pecan and dates. If you love bananas, you’ll love the richness of this – but it did get a little too rich for us after awhile.
Overall, we love the relaxed ambience in Pandan Republic. Will definitely return for their Nyonya kuih.
Pandan Republic
I love their waffle with 2 scopes of ice cream (i tink only RM21), you can choose from 62% dark chocolate ice cream, 80% dark chocolate ice cream, milk chocolate ice cream etc. My favourite is their darkest chocolate ice cream, it looks like charcoal color, and a lower cocoa percentage. So good. MUST TRY!!!
Single Origin Dark Chocolate Ice Cream (RM 21) One of a MUST to order here is. Taste the different flavour profile of three single origin dark chocolate ice cream. The ice cream which is being showcase includes 64% Madagascar, 70% Dominican Republic and 72% Venezuela. In here; you will actually get the different taste of each chocolate ice cream and you can judge them with the acidity, fruitiness, bitterness as well as the intensity of the ice cream.
I believe you have eaten Abiong's sea bream fish ice cream but it is like and love!
After our chilli pan mee lunch, we dropped by Inside Scoop for some ice cream. Compared to the Bangsar outlet, this outlet in Sri Petaling is more spacious and bright, and the decor is really nice and inviting too
Total Damage: RM37.00 Food Serving Speed: Moderate Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Will I Revisit?: No but recommended
I can’t wait to visit Japan again for their amazing food but for now, Matcha Eight is the place for me for Japanese green tea ice cream. Remember, these are artisan ice cream and created by Michelin-starred Master Chef from Kyoto.
[Muslim-friend] Matcha Eight at LaLaport, Bukit Bintang City Centre serves Japanese tea ice cream made with the best tea powder from Kyoto.
Reasons to visit Kind Kones Plaza Damansara: a commendable selection of vegan ice cream in KL with a variety of bases such as coconut, almond, cashew and sorbet; must order the Almond Brittle Fudge and Charcoal Vanilla flavours of ice cream; Lemon, Vanilla, & Coconut Cashew Superfood Bliss Ball, and the Chunky Peanut Butter Cheesecake.
Reasons to visit: gluten-free, dairy-free ice cream (and cones!); delicious flavours; our favourites were the dark chocolate, strawberry and lemon lime; Malaysia’s first vegan, all-natural ice cream bar.
Currently, at the Sea Park outlet, they have weekday promotion on beverages “Buy One Get one Free” from noon to late evening. Perfect time to chill and relax with family and friends, over coffee/tea. You can get waffle and ice cream as tea-break 🙂
This cafe is definitely worth a visit to try out their signature soft serve. We really enjoyed the interior with its lush potted plants and rattan furniture – making it a lovely space for a catch-up with friends.
