There was a children's party going on while we were there and they even had a pasta making session which pretty much sums up the atmosphere here at Jamie's Italian at VivoCity, a lively yet laid-back place with pretty good food.
Jamie’s Italian is definitely one for friends or family. The dishes here are hearty, generously portioned, and good for sharing. Prices are relatively high considering it’s a casual restaurant, but the fresh ingredients they use make most of their dishes worth the money.
This is great for sharing as it might be a tad heavy if you’re having it all on your own, besides, there are more that you need to save your stomach for!
It was much better than most of the competition, as they didn't overdo the garlic in that fettucine aglio e olio above, and fortunately they used dried chilis instead of fresh ones to give it that nice smoky aroma.
Great for all that cornicione.
I'll still come back for another topping though.
The cafe, a chic spot bedecked in black with a pretty little greenhouse-like nook, is wonderfully cool to hang out in the blazing heat of the afternoon sun.
Their pizza isn't particularly Italian and definitely not Neapolitan.
Hits and misses, the environment was a plus point. However for the pricing, it was a tad expensive and the location was not very accessible if you were to travel via the MRT line.
Prices are kept pocket friendly and dinner service is quick so it's a order-eat-leave kind of promptness at Buono's.
