Food was good and acceptable. While I would definitely return, there were hits and misses as well.
这道结合了甜点元素的蓬松奶酥蛋炬饭,将蛋清弄制成蓬松的奶酥包裹着番茄饭,这个的搭配简直就是完美
My friend chose US Pork Loin and I chose Australian Beef Chuck Roll because it is less fatty than Australian Beef Brisket.
牛魔日式刷刷锅 Wagyu More Japanese Shabu Shabu @ The Gardens Mall 限定两个小时用餐时间, 对我们来说刚刚好。
Verdict: It was indeed a satiated meatilicious hotpot experience, burpsss 。^‿^。
Another must try is their Wagyu Beef Bun. You can now enjoy the juicy wagyu beef patty which is perfectly marinated in the special sauce and they served with lettuce and cheese in a steamed bun. They are just so good and the meat is so juicy!
When BabySumoKids crave for ramen, Ippudo in The Gardens Mall is the place we would choose to go to. This visit, we ordered two full bowl sets, whereby you can choose from five types of ramen, and also from two appetizer sets
Having been around here for some time now, recently another new menu has been introduced to titillate Japanese ramen fans on top of its existing menu. Let’s have a quick rundown of what could be expected from the latest addition.
Decided to an older establishment instead, a few months’ ago. Sou Omakase Dining has been around for 6 years, and still going strong given its location and decent pricing.
Located in "Mid Valley City Mall", and near to entrance the Gardens Hotel is the "Sou Omakase Dining" which offers no other menu but only Omakase dining experience starting at rm$88 to rm$350+; available as Lunch or Dinner options.
Verdict: For person that never been to Japan like me, it’s always good to have chance to sample food or produces freshly bring in to our country. If you are Japanese food enthusiasts, don’t attempt to miss this!
What do We Like about Kiku Zakura, Mid Valley Megamall? -Fresh sashimi, quality foods in big portion
The Seafood Teppanyaki was well-grilled, drizzled with enough sauce to also eat with the vegetable sides.
I ordered the salmon don instead at MYR 29+ (MYR 31.90 nett) from the ala carte menu which has a slightly bigger slice of salmon as compared to the salmon bento set lunch.
Chawanmushi MYR 5.47 nett (used to be MYR 5.80 nett). California Maki and Avocado Maki used to be MYR 4.80 nett each so now is MYR 4.53 nett. A white plate of sushi (tamago sushi in this case) used to cost MYR 2.80 nett so now it costs MYR 2.64 nett.
a bowl of soba noodles (small portion) with tempura at MYR 14.80 nett
2 chawanmushi at MYR 5.80 nett each. This is a must-order item for my friend and I.
Hokkaido Milk Ice Cream at 50% off so after this discount, the price is MYR 4.45++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 5.16 nett). This ice cream is truly very milky so for those people who cannot stand the taste of dairy, please stay away.
Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng Berempah (ala carte price is MYR 18.90++) promotion with a glass of cold watermelon juice (ala carte price is MYR 13.90++) at MYR 15.90++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 18.45 nett). So it is a savings of MYR 16.90++ which means this is good value for money. The deep fried whole chicken leg is tasty!
Cinnamon Raisin Roll (MYR 3.5+ 6% sst = MYR 3.71 nett) from Tokyo Secret, Midvalley Mall. For those who like the taste of cinnamon, this bun is very delicious.
What do We Like about Yayoi at The Gardens? -Many choices of teishoku to choose from -Teishoku set with assorted side dishes serve in a single tray
Chicken Oyako Don at MYR 16.90++ (10% service charge and 6% SST = MYR 19.60 nett ). Taste good enough.
Yuzu has the best of fine dining and also good taste and service, which was why it managed to maintain the business here from my Uni years till now.
Cod fish bento - MYR 62++ (10% service charge, 6% SST = MYR 71.92 nett). It was a very small piece of cod fish but the tasty beef kind of make up for the fish.
My lunch set at Yuzu, The Gardens Mall: Salmon Nabe Set at MYR 30.30 nett. There are two portion of fruits on my tray because my friend gave me hers. There are 4 big pieces of salmon with lots of napa cabbage, bean curd and mushrooms in the pot. I kept half for dinner without the broth. My only complaint is that the salmon pieces have many bones in them so I had to be very careful when eating them.
Had this few years back, very filling and nice, I think RM150 per pax
For weekday dinner, the restaurant offers a Tasting Menu (RM228 nett) whereby diners can choose 2 appetizers and dessert or main course and dessert; Sage Menu (RM278 nettt) for appetizer, main course and dessert, or a 4-course Chef's Special Menu (RM338 nett).
For mains, diners have a choice of three different dishes to choose from - usually a selection of fish, lamb or beef. We both went for the Australian Wagyu striploin with chasseur sauce. Simply irresistible, the Wagyu was cooked to perfection... every mouthful a delight to savour.
Recently, during my birthday celebration in Yuzu, Gardens, I spotted Ichiriki after our lunch which has an opening promotion for 2 items and the food are not that expensive at RM 25 above. So we went to Ichiriki last week.
One of the cheaper japanese restaurant in Gardens, dined there for few times My salmon sashimi set, only RM29
In summary, Tamago-En is an egg-stravaganza adventures during my visit. It was more than just a meal; it was a celebration of the incredible versatility of eggs. From the “bright orange sun in fluffy-cloud” to the tornado omelette adventure, each dish was a testament to the artistry and creativity that can be achieved with eggs.
Kintsugi is an excellent addition to the local Japanese fine dining landscape and The Gardens dining portfolio. It’s also reasonably priced, serves quality food and is good value for money. For those looking for that next Japanese date night spot, bookmark Kintsugi.
There are a few types of broth to choose from, namely the bankara original which is shoyu based (soy sauce), tonkotsu - milky pork bone soup, miso, shio (salt) or you can even have it dry - tsukemen. Previously we tried the Tonkotsu Kakuni Ramen so this time we decided to go for the Bankara Original (Shoyu based) with Kakuni (braised pork belly). The price stated in the menu is inclusive of the 6% GST but there is another 10% service charge imposed on the final bill.
Now that Rakuzen is at the Gardens Mall since Sept 2019, I have been there about 6 times and for each time I ordered the same item which is Salmon Shioyaki Set Lunch at MYR (26 + 10)+ (6% SST = MYR 38.15 nett). There was once when all 4 of us ordered this Salmon Shioyaki Set Lunch each because we feel that it is the best value for money set lunch as the piece of salmon is thick and big.
Fish Katsu Curry Rice ala carte (MYR 16.80 nett) at Yoshinoya, Midvalley Mall. I like the curry because it is not sweet and has lots of potatoes and carrots in it. The fish is passable with some translucent flesh around the edges. I am satiated after eating half of the portion because I am a small eater. Luckily my friend is with me to eat the other half.
A small bowl of beef rice at Yoshinoya, Midvalley mall. The price is MYR 12.10 nett compared to MYR 9.80 nett back in 2015 (about 3 years ago). The rice is still a lot for me so I kept half portion of it for dinner.
Overall, it was a perfect dinner for me. Good service and thanks for the recommendation. Your choice was great!! I really enjoyed it. Second visit? A big YES for me. The small portion was more than enough for me, but if you are a big eater, go for their bigger portion.
This is a slice of Baumkuchen (Tree Ring Cake) with green tea matcha ice cream in the middle of the cake at MYR 5.80 nett. The cake is slightly sweet with a taste of honey which goes well with the slightly bitter matcha ice cream in the middle. There are two other flavours - original and chocolate which I may try next time.
Only the 6 small maki on the left is mine. Ebi Avo Ebiko Maki (Avocado Prawn Maki covered with shrimp roe) at MYR 10.40+ (10% service charge = MYR 11.45 nett).
Overall, it was a good dinner for me. Delicious Japanese food and excellent service. I guess, I should make reservation during my next visit so that I don’t have to queue for my turn.
Even with all the above dishes, there are still so much more choices of udon and other dishes in Manmaru. The team at Manmaru has a knack for perfecting all their dishes which is hard to do considering that there is so much variety here. Prices seem fair for the quality and portion. Dining at Manmaru won’t break a hole in your wallet and you get a good sense of satisfaction and comfort!
Kake Udon カケうどん (Rm 8.90 – Small; Rm 10.90 – Large) Hot udon in broth topped with thinly sliced green onions and slices of kamaboko. The classic soy udon which wow us the most. It was simple but it gave the best flavour.
If you happened to be “Mentaiko” die-hard fans like us, then you should consider on having their Cheese Mentaiko Takoyaki RM13.10 (6 pcs) which adds some extra cheezy miles. This Gindaco special recipe is served with spicy cod roe mixed into Japanese mayo and soy sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese, dried parsley, and parmesan cheese sprinkle would be guaranteed to blow your mind, especially while you manage to pull out a string of cheese! 😉
It’s said that Gindaco’s takoyaki is famed for its exterior crispiness while remaining soft and succulent within. And so, we chose the original flavor to attest the claim (=
