Overall Rating: 8/10. I never would have thought that I'd stumble upon a place which serves Southern American cuisine, after my not-so-pleasant stint at Acme South in Bangsar (a sister branch of the more popular Acme Bar & Cafe). Hence, I'd definitely recommend BRYCG for being one of the few Southern American (New Orleans to be specific) restaurants in the Klang Valley that does it well.

I ended up with beef yaki ramen at MYR 17.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 19.69 nett). Just like this plate of Teriyaki Beef Pasta, there was a lot of bonito flakes sprinkled on top of the noodles. The slices of beef are a bit tough but still manageable and there are some green capsicum and cabbage too. The sauce is on the sweet side. I kept half for dinner as the portion is big.

Not only the course will include more meat, some of the existing items have been upgraded as well. Lastly, you definitely would not want to miss Yakiniku Toraji’s weekday set lunch. If you're craving juicy yet good quality steaks, then this no-frills place for meat, cooked the Japanese way with simply just salt and black pepper, is definitely worth a visit. Although I won't go as far as to say that the steaks here are cheap since some of the wagyu beef can go as high as RM200, you can still find some very reasonably-priced and affordable Australian beef cuts for around RM25. So, go with what you think is within your budget. Besides a meat fest, there are plenty more food options here (like sushi, sashimi, tempura and bento) though I'll be more tempted by the lust of gorgeous meat more than anything else if I'm here again!

If you're in Pavilion and in the mood for some teppanyaki, Tokyo Teppan is a possible option since that's their speciality anyway...and you can't go wrong with chicken or salmon. But what's even better is that if someone in your party prefers donburi, you can cross order from their sister restaurant (Tokyo Don) next door which opens up even more options for its diners. Prices are fairly decent and a meal here will cost you under RM50 per person if you stick with the combo teppanyaki sets. I'd like to return to try the beef set one day.

A Bento box is a handy solution to the standard rectangular lunchbox. The secure lid opens to reveal a compartment style interior where different foods can be placed in different sections of the box. These compartments are just big enough so that you do not need to overfill one type of food. Hence, a more complete balanced meal is obtained in one Bento box. Since the amount is fixed before lunch time, we don’t have to over eat even though we are hungry. Balanced diet and controlled portion, how cool is that? For those shopping or working in KL city, do you know that you can now have a balanced and fulfilling Japanese bento meal at ISETAN THE JAPAN STORE for only RM15?

The Mixed Nigiri Set came with 8 pieces of sushi, with toppings such as salmon, tuna, yellowtail, tamago, tobiko and scallop. Everything was fresh and delicious, and I especially enjoyed the salmon and yellowtail. A very nice change from my regular bara chirashi.

Cheese Mentaiko Takoyaki RM16.90/8 pieces

Trying the new drinks here. The orange nitro coffee that I ordered tastes a bit weird with the orange but it's still ok.

We ordered the Harmony Chipechee (RM 7.90). Basically it is Croffle with filling of chicken pepperoni & cheese. The texture of their version of croffle is soft and flaky, the chicken pepperoni and cheese is flavourful so this is very addictive and delicious. This croffle is similar to Thailand’s 7 Eleven’s Croissant Sandwich Ham & Cheese. Of course, the croffle from Maison De Gigi is freshly made and tastier.
