For the meat lovers, THIRTY8 offers Australian 'Diamantina' Red Wagyu or Black Angus Beef from Stanbroke Farms. We had the rib eye (350g, marbling score 6 - RM350), which was thoughtfully sliced for sharing. Beautifully tender, melt-in-the-mouth and flavorful meat, we certainly enjoyed this and went straight to steak heaven. So so good! I'm also eyeing the Tomahawk for my next visit, very reasonably priced at RM350 for 900g.

My Personal Opinion I'm not a big fan of ramen and don't have it often enough for the very reasons why people find ramen appealing....for the intensely rich-flavoured pork bone broth and fatty meat. Maybe I should try a lighter soup base...or chicken ramen next time since I prefer clear, milder flavours. Still a worthy ramen option to those who adore big, bold flavours! ;)

We went for the Tonkotsu Ramen (RM25) which comes with imported thin noodles, in a delicious milky broth. It was really rich and creamy, which Baby C absolutely adores. It only still comes with one slice of chashu, along with spring onions, jew's ear mushroom and seaweed

The majority of the menu leans towards Thai specialities with Japanese offerings making up a small part of the menu only. The few that I tried, I have to say the Thai dishes made a more positive impact. The food I've managed to try here is average at best (though there's still plenty to try as the menu is quite extensive). Prices may be a little on the high side (for both types of cuisine, especially the desserts) but some of the Thai dishes do come in generous portion-sizes. I'm not sure if I'm convinced to order from the Japanese section of the menu again since they failed to nail the salmon skewer which I thought is one of the easiest things to execute. Managed by the fine folks of Chakri (of which I had the pleasure of dining before), I think the Thai dishes here are still worth checking out as they certainly won't be as expensive as Chakri. Just don't go in with too high an expectation and you should come off satisfied.

Parking is free. Make your reservation early, bar is very much recommended. I was absolutely irritated because their waitresses never actually checked if we need anything else or if our food was OK. Also, I've noticed their waitresses are not very well-versed with what they are serving. Unfortunately we were there in group of 5 so we can't reserve the bar. Apparently the sushi chef, Ori-san explains everything if you're by the bar. I shall do that next time.

Hubby ordered the Sizzling Black Pepper Yakiniku Gozen (RM39.90), which comes with sizzling black pepper beef, salmon sashimi, chawanmushi, appetizer, miso soup, rice and fruit. After seeing my order, I concluded that Hubby's set meal is good value for money. The sizzling beef was pretty tasty and came in quite a big portion. Even his salmon sashimi came in 4 thick slices.

If you're in Pavilion and in the mood for some teppanyaki, Tokyo Teppan is a possible option since that's their speciality anyway...and you can't go wrong with chicken or salmon. But what's even better is that if someone in your party prefers donburi, you can cross order from their sister restaurant (Tokyo Don) next door which opens up even more options for its diners. Prices are fairly decent and a meal here will cost you under RM50 per person if you stick with the combo teppanyaki sets. I'd like to return to try the beef set one day.

Among the dozens of horrible things I tried before giving up, these were the ones I found to be edible: salmon sashimi, soft shell crab tempura, teppanyaki, fruits and ice cream. The rest of the sashimi was just not fresh, looked like someone chopped them up in anger and tasted chewy. As for the cooked dishes, they are either overseasoned to the point of being too sweet or salty. Such a cheap tactic to mask the subpar ingredients used to prepare them. Even the chili crab was deep fried before being cooked in the sauce – it tasted damn weird. Unagi kabayaki is supposed to be a selling point considering it’s rare in Japanese buffets nowadays. But it was a huge let down for being rubbery and sugary.

Enoshima is a small, bustling, Japan­ese Restaurant located at Wisma Cosway, replacing Ozeki Italian Cuisine that I’ve once been to a few years ago. This quaint little restaurant reminds me of the izakaya that I’ve been to in Japan. Perhaps the ambiance itself. Filled with many Japanese too. However, this one has more selections. Haha. And also has fusion dishes as well. One downside is that some of them smoke indoors *coughs*

Of course need to try one of their classic which is Azuki Red Bean @ RM 7.50. Paste is just nice yet not too sweet. Besides that, I went another round to try out their hybrid filling which is Red Bean & Matcha Ice Cream @ RM 8.50. Turns out to be quite interesting. Feels like eating Ice Cream Roti.

Yuzu continues to satisfy us with their food each time we dine here. Their a la carte menu (albeit with higher prices) is so extensive you'll be spoilt for choice. But if you're looking for a more affordable Japanese meal, their lunch and dinner sets will certainly be better value...and better priced. I had the shio ramen (RM28 for regular) while my friend had the shoyu ramen (RM28 for regular). I still love the broth and noodles (The broth was rich and creamy, noodles had a great texture) but char siu is just mediocre. We also ordered komi tamago each - cant believe they charge RM4 for the egg now, and the one we had this trip had a strange vinegary taste to it. :(

Volcano Roll, 42 ringgit. The Volcano was something I’ve never had before. I loved it though. There were several pieces of sushi rolls inside and the topped and coated with a relatively thick layer of cheese and sauce. It certainly is fattening but totally worth a try. Really delicious.

My Personal Opinion I think this could very well be my last time eating Japanese curry. Even a Japanese curry specialist didn't do it for me. I guess I'm just not into Japanese curry...neither the proteins (which are mostly fried) nor the curry impressed. My Personal Opinion Another sushi place you can consider when you're in Pavilion...even if it's just for this unique sushi with loads of deliciously crispy carrot shreds. A simple light lunch of garlic fried rice should sufficiently please too.

The grilled chicken was decent but pretty much tasteless without the dip sauce. Even the dip sauce was a tad too sweet and I would say that it was just so so. The blend of mashed potatoes and steamed beans was again quite bland. Overall, it wasn't something that I had enjoyed and my rating for this dish shall be 4/10 only.

Cheese Mentaiko Takoyaki RM16.90/8 pieces 尝试了这个之后我发现自己更爱原味的,因为我觉得飘舞的柴鱼丝和烧酱是章鱼烧不可缺少的元素啊!点芝士明太子口味的话就会少了那两种东西了,虽然还是好吃,但总觉得少了些什么。
