Verdict: Overall the ramen is nice with an intense broth They are mostly famous for their Cheese tsukemen Service was lacking and their app isn't very helpful in terms of ordering the food.
Verdict: We were largely contented with our meal at Mitsuyado Seimen. A well worth checking out for noodles devotees.
The basic Tsukemen, which is known as hiyamori is one variety where the Ramen is served slightly chilled and compliments with warm soup. Mitsuyado continuously invents new recipe, to cater for the vast customers’ combination preferences, using different temperature in boiling and rinsing of the noodles. Therefore, Mitsuyado has become the pioneer in the arena of Tsukemen to offer noodles in 4 different temperatures!
Well, for the price that we are paying, definately no complain at all, however I still prefer Sukiya over this. As sukiya soup base is much flavourful. For this outlet it seems pretty mild in most of the soup base. However, depends on your own preference as this is constantly packed.
Click on it to read the text. There are 5 soup base available and 4 types of meat: pork, chicken, beef and lamb. You need to pay extra if you order from the ala carte section. For weekday lunch the price is MYR 32.80++ (10% service charge and 6% GST making it MYR 38.25 nett) and it is limited to a 2 hours session. For weekends, the price is MYR 34.80++ for lunch.
Overall, we were satisfied with the quality of the ingredients, as the prawns and meat slices were fresh and highly enjoyable. And as expected, the pork slices were the most delicious and went well with the spicy miso dipping sauce. That said, Sukishi’s sushi was terrible so don’t have high expectations for it. Personally, I thought they were worse than what you get at supermarkets.
This is what I love about Japanese food. You get rice, protein, vegetables, soup - a little bit of everything and it does fill you up very nicely. I noticed that the rice is regular rice, not the usual sticky Japanese rice. The beef was excellent and so was everything else.
Grilled salmon belly skewers at MYR 15+ (MYR 15.90 nett). The salmon belly has crispy skins but very fatty belly so no more next time.
Beef Tataki - MYR 17 nett. I found this explanation from the internet: "Beef tataki refers to a Japanese method of preparing fillet beef, where the meat is lightly seared, marinated, sliced thinly similar to sashimi, and served with a citrus-soy dipping sauce". From wiki, tataki (たたき) means "pounded" or "hit into pieces". The beef fillet in this dish is sliced very thinly and very lightly seared so it may appear to be medium rare so if one wants to eat beef that is cooked thoroughly to well done then stay clear of this dish. I find this dish very flavourful due to it being served in the citrus soy sauce.
Yasai Omu Curry Rice at MYR 19.80 nett (inclusive of 6% SST). Yasai (野菜) means vegetable so there are potatoes, pumpkin, okra and carrots in this meal. Omurice refers to rice wrapped in an omelette. My friend says this dish is tasty and I guess the Curry is on the sweet side since my friend does not take spicy food.
I went for the cold green tea soba tempura at MYR 11.13+ (6% SST = MYR 11.80 nett). The green tea taste is strong and nice. The way to eat this is to mix the spring onions, daikon, seaweed into the cup of mirin soy sauce and then dip the cold soba into the sauce before eating it.
On that day, we went to Sushi Zanmai, Starling mall for lunch. I ordered a small bowl of Tempura soba for MYR 13.96 nett. There were only two pieces of tempura - a prawn and a piece of brinjal. Other than this, I also ordered my usual avocado sushi (MYR 2.64 nett - two pieces).
I was so looking forward to going to Ramen Hitoyoshi again because I love the ramen. This one is the Buta Shogayaki Tonkotsu Ramen. Yes, very good till the last drop.
First, the ajitama. Beautifully executed, the yolks were runny and the egg was well marinated. The broth was really good too, though a tad too salty for me.
Tamagoyaki Sliced with Potato Ham RM11.90 serves with mashed potato, salad, and chicken ham is another egg omelet series with an additional ingredient (as a topping) to chew on. If you love the idea of having mash potato, steam egg and vinegary taste (Worchester sauce) at the same time, be sure not to skip this awesome combination!
Tamago Mentai Don was simply delicious. Tamago + Mentai is the match made in heaven for me. YUM!! * Must try in the Shin Tamagoyaki. Not hungry? Skip the Tamago Mentai Don and go straight to the Tamago Mentai. You won't regret for the perfect choice you have made in the life. Portion may look small in the picture, but it's just nice for me.
