This is what I love about Japanese food. You get rice, protein, vegetables, soup - a little bit of everything and it does fill you up very nicely. I noticed that the rice is regular rice, not the usual sticky Japanese rice. The beef was excellent and so was everything else.
Grilled salmon belly skewers at MYR 15+ (MYR 15.90 nett). The salmon belly has crispy skins but very fatty belly so no more next time.
Beef Tataki - MYR 17 nett. I found this explanation from the internet: "Beef tataki refers to a Japanese method of preparing fillet beef, where the meat is lightly seared, marinated, sliced thinly similar to sashimi, and served with a citrus-soy dipping sauce". From wiki, tataki (たたき) means "pounded" or "hit into pieces". The beef fillet in this dish is sliced very thinly and very lightly seared so it may appear to be medium rare so if one wants to eat beef that is cooked thoroughly to well done then stay clear of this dish. I find this dish very flavourful due to it being served in the citrus soy sauce.
Lunch at Rakuzen, Starling Mall. Salmon Avocado at MYR 18 nett. Closed up look at the mentaiko (fish roe). There are cubes of avocado and raw salmon beneath the mentaiko.
Salad Roll was tasty. You can dip the rolls into soy sauce + wasabi and enjoy. It have been ages since I had avocado roll. Yum!! Salad Roll @ RM 13
