The Spicy Seafood Hot Pot (Haemul Jeongol) @ RM70 was absolutely delicious and we could not stop drinking the soup. It was rich, slightly spicy and very flavorful after being infused with the natural sweetness of seafood. The price might be a little high but we did not mind that at all because we thoroughly enjoyed it.

It isn’t easy coming up with the best place for Korean BBQ in Solaris Mont Kiara but Ola! Korean BBQ Garden in Soho KL is easily one with a good grill that delivers native tastes to the many Koreans here in Mont Kiara. On top of the wide range of meat that’s perfect for any barbequing occasion, classic Korean ala carte dishes are available.

Unfortunately, one of us had diarrhea after having the raw crabs. I think it's his stomach who can't take it - because I had no issues. Nevertheless, I would stay away from their crabs and have their cooked food instead to avoid the risk of getting another portion of unfresh crab.

With the fancy Korean offerings around this area, and the food here being nowhere close to contemporarily or fancy, Apgujeong remained elaborate as classic Korean favourite. Don’t be surprised to see more Korean native diners there because this one offers a flavour close to home.

Hwa Ga is a Korean BBQ restaurant that seemed to just appear out of nowhere. If my gut feeling is correct, it is a rebranding or offshoot of San Nae Deul which used to (and still?) run Korean BBQ buffet promotions on group buying websites. Hwa Ga’s business model is no different either, as they have one and only one menu and that’s an ala carte BBQ buffet menu.

Palsaik Korean BBQ - Mont Kiara 팔색삼겹살 Restaurant

One of the Korean restaurant chains that is still getting much love as ever is the Palsaik Korean BBQ restaurant. So what makes Palsaik Korean BBQ different from the other Korean BBQ restaurants? The answer lies in the unique 8-colour pork barbecue! The menu is also relatively simple, it comes in a wide spread of two-page menu, where you could opt for the set you preferred. We ordered the premium set which featured the signature 8-colour pork barbecue, grilled deodeok (Lanceolate) root and premium kimchi. We also had an additional trooper soup at the side while we wait for the barbecue pork to be ready.

This cheese perimeter gradually melts as the helpful assistant stir fry the combo of your choice. Additional rice or ramen is a common add on but to cut the carbohydrate intake, I’m good with just the vegetables and chicken alone. Besides, there are rice cakes in it and I do recommend adding some seafood to the dish. Otherwise, keep it simple with just the main and the side dishes that accompanies. And unless you want to splurge on food, a meal as such is RM 57.55 for the Cheese Dakgalbi, and RM 3.30 for a cup of green tea.

Nanda Chicken is a Korean restaurant that serves Korean fried chicken with fondue-style snow cheese. Nanda Chicken Korean restaurant is always full when we go pass this area a few times. It was the crowd and the long queue that attracts our attention to try Nanda chicken last weekend.
  • vkeong.com
  • 2017-06-04 00:00:00+00:00
Nanda Chicken’s menu is pretty straightforward and Korean fried chicken is the main attraction here. It is available in three categories: with cheese, crispy and special. If you are dining in a small group, ordering could be tricky because most of the portions seem to be made for sharing. The only exception would be the chicken wings, but we were told that it was not available (yet) during our visit. So yeah, tough luck.

This place is popular with moonlighters looking to cure their nighttime hunger pangs. And with them overcoming the short of helper issue, dining in at night is much breezier compared to when they just started their business. Portion is huge and each alacarte chicken serving are good for more than 2 person. Go for the staple fried chicken and ask salad without the chili sauce drizzle. They are perfectly satisfying.

From the menu, there are a few sets to choose from, or you can order off the a la carte menu. Other than Korean BBQ, they also have kimchi jjigae, kimchi fried rice, pajeon and much more on the menu.

All in all, it was an enjoyable meal with great company and none of us felt there was anything we could find fault with. Sae Ma Eul’s prices are sensible for the food quality and serving size, and the service we experienced was excellent as well. I think our BBQ pan was replaced with a new one at least 5 times – all without having to ask at all.

The staffs are efficient in changing the griller once it turns black. Good Job guys but you guys should also be active in refilling the Veggie for the customer. Go full in Solaris Mont Kiara is something I have in two minds whenever I passed by. At one point, they were almost dead and there were a period of time where a healthy crowd of patron is being spotted. There is only one way to find out what’s with the inconsistency so my friends and I visited to clear the doubts. The funky interiors themed with hippy menu are gaining pleasant impressions to begin with. There are interesting sandwiches, topokki, fried chicken, and aplenty with lots of cheese added to it. Clearly the cheese game is very strong here and it was all good right up till after we tasted our pick.
