Hubby ordered 1 portion of rice (more than enough for 2 persons), 1 chicken drumstick, 1 piece of mutton with all the necessary curry and condiment. For the vegetables, there were beansprout and sliced cucumber. By the time hubby came back with the nasi kandar, my homemade salted duck egg was ready. Salted egg with nasi kandar make a good combination.
Verdict: Kak Maβs is a win. This simple, budget-friendly salt of the earth stall scores on all fronts and deserves its viral tag.
A few minutes stop at Tapah to fill up my tummy is really important for me, haha ! Especially after many hours of driving.
Each naan bread is priced at RM7 and is best served with some classic Teh Tarik or Iced Tea.
Verdict: Food was not really remarkable but the breakfast by the river experience was not something you usually can get in the city.
RM 125 for 14 people. Decent satay in Town, chicken taste better than than mutton.
Enjoy traditional home-cooked meals over 100 years old that gave visitors a great experience . Sri Muallim restaurant located at Tanjong Malim and has created a twist , not only because of its antique home dΓ©cor but also serves the village cuisine .
If you are traveling between Penang and Kuala Lumpur, Rumah Makan Sri Muallim in Tanjung Malim is definitely a worthy stopover.
We ordered both the prawn noodles and the crab noodles. This is their Prawn Noodles Special which came with more prawns (six). The mee is rebus style (boiled) and came with a generous amount of gravy topped with a poached egg, deep-fried shallots and green garnishing. A small, cut limau kasturi (Calamansi lime) is also provided, squeeze the juice in for that extra sour oomph.
The Nasi Lemak looks and tastes exactly the same. It is quite simple with limited ingredients but tastes excellent. Those days it was sold at RM 0.70 per plate but now the price has gone up to RM 2.00 per plate. I still remember clearly that I used to have two or three plates during my teenage days. Must have been a very good eater then. Even now, two is just nice and is good to last right up to tea time. The Rice itself is fragrant and delicious. Cooked with a lavish amount of coconut milk, the rice is so creamy and good. Definitely still one of the best Nasi Lemak rice out there. The Nasi Lemak comes with a sufficient amount of Onion Sambal and some Cucumber and Long Beans on the side. The cucumber and long beans are just steamed items. The Sambal however is not on the spicy side like other Nasi Lemak sambals. Here, it is on the sweet side, this may seem odd to many but when you taste it, you would know that it is absolutely delicious. A rare kind of sambal preparation that would keep you wanting for more. I would rate their Nasi Lemak at 9/10 and it is definitely one of my favourite Nasi Lemak places.
Here's the location.
Nasi Lemak Opah Nab is so famous that you have to stand in a queue to get your orders and that wait is truly worth it. The rice itself was so tasty and their spicy anchovy sambal was just heavenly. In that short span of time that I was there, tubs after tubs of rice were being sold and that's how famous this Nasi Lemak place is. If you're passing Behrang Ulu anytime in the morning, this is definitely a place that is worth stopping for some excellent Nasi Lemak. Good food and very reasonable prices.
