My Personal Opinion This is, by far, the most impressive fishball noodles I've had in recent memory. Usually I wouldn't have been able to frequent dedicated fishball noodle shops since my family isn't into it but, luckily, this one is also home to a very decent curry laksa and an acceptable wantan mee.

Soup is pack with flavour, you can taste the rice wine, heat from the ginger, slightly fragrant from soy sauce, sweetness from the clamp. It is indeed a satisyfying bowl for your lunch. It would taste even better if it is on rainy day as a sip of the soup could keep your tummy warm.

The Char Kuey Teow was really good. I can understand why many food bloggers rated Lai Foong to have one of the Top 10 Fried Kuey Teow in downtown KL. The noodles were well cooked and tasty, came accompanied with egg + cockles + fishcakes + Chinese sausages + lard + prawns + taugeh. Here, when you order LARGE, you’d get LARGE, Lots of noodles. I ate it all anyway since I was really hungry. Burp!

Verdict: The Wonton Mee and Char Siew were spot on and memorably good. I wouldn’t say no to a revisit, IF I happen to be at this area as I have a few options (which are nearer to my place) at my disposal. For those who live nearby or want to try out this place, go ahead!

The Char Siew was good. Depending on the kind of texture you like on your meat, you’d either like the char siew that came with the noodles or the one with the rice. Both dishes came with thick, chunky pieces of meat. However, the Wan Tan Mee char siew was dense, juicy and tender while the rice came with meat that was a lil hard and chewy. The sweet glaze coating on the outside was perfection but the inside, that meat was sure was chewy. I still did enjoy it but not as much as I would have if I received the same char siew that accompanied the noodles.

A standard bowl of Char Siew Wantan mee with dumplings soup costs RM 7.50. The noodles are fine retaining its springy texture and taste. The chunky slices of Char Siew, aromatic black soya sauce with blanched choy sum completes the dish. At RM 7.50, this is definitely worth the price you are paying for! 👍👍👍

My Personal Opinion Though they're more popular for their signature dish of wantan mee (you don't have to be Einstein to know this, it's pretty obvious from the name), I'm not particularly fond of it. I much prefer their other dishes like wild boar curry which you can eat with rice (perhaps their curry chicken and Hakka char yoke will be good accompaniments too).

For those who are not into noodles, you can have their nasi lemak with either luncheon meat or fried chicken (go for the luncheon meat). ^_~ For a Chinese-style nasi lemak, they do justice to the sambal (but a little on the salty side). The thing they need to improve is the always the over-fried egg.

Interestingly, netizens gave high ratings for this Wan Ton Mee stall. But today, 50 minutes of LRT ride to KL, with high expectation but left with utter disappointment, not sure why this is one of the famous or "must-eat" stalls when in KL Petaling Street, as many touted it as even the "Best" Wan Ton Mee in town!

Despite what we felt about Koon Kee, there are surprisingly many good reviews about their noodles on various sites notably TripAdvisor and Foursquare. Maybe it’s due to nostalgia. Or simply because these people have never had a proper wantan mee before. In conclusion, don’t waste your time here and I bet the wantan mee stall in your neighborhood coffee shop could prepare a better tasting one.

My Personal Opinion After striking out twice with Hong Kong-style cuisine in Starz Kitchen and then HK Boy Cart Noodles, it was third time lucky and a relief to finally find Hong Kong-inspired food that I (at least) enjoyed. The prawn wontons, both the fried and soup version, are what you need to get here. The dry prawn roe noodles was the other surprise favourite but the luncheon meat rice was what I enjoyed the most. It's funny that I came here primarily to try their authentic wonton noodles (which is still more than satisfying) but leave raving about their premium quality luncheon meat and double egg rice. If I can only have one dish here, it'll be this one. Each time I'm in Pavilion now, I'm thinking of having it. ^_^

The story of GO Noodle House revolves around the values of rela onship. At a dinner hosted by one of the co-founders in his humble home, the group of friends were impressed by the tradi onal ChaoZhou soup served by his mother. Using this family recipe, which evolved from the Qing Dynasty, as a base, the group of friends re ned the technique and set up the very rst GO Noodle House in 2014. Using superior pork broth, enhanced with premium yellow rice wine, as a base – diners can choose a variety of noodles and toppings to make a delicious and wholesome meal. A crowd favourite is GO Noodle House’s signature mi xian, which is made from pure rice our. The signature bursting meatball is also an ever present in almost every order.
