My Personal Opinion Though they're more popular for their signature dish of wantan mee (you don't have to be Einstein to know this, it's pretty obvious from the name), I'm not particularly fond of it. I much prefer their other dishes like wild boar curry which you can eat with rice (perhaps their curry chicken and Hakka char yoke will be good accompaniments too).

A standard bowl of Char Siew Wantan mee with dumplings soup costs RM 7.50. The noodles are fine retaining its springy texture and taste. The chunky slices of Char Siew, aromatic black soya sauce with blanched choy sum completes the dish. At RM 7.50, this is definitely worth the price you are paying for! 👍👍👍

Dining here during the weekend is a horror. You are not just can't find a seat but you also can't find a parking space. The traffic around here get congested too! So I would recommend to come during the weekdays instead. Overall, if you are having sudden crave on wantan mee and you are somewhere nearby here, do drop by. Otherwise, I do not think it is worth the trip to coming all the way for it. I still think Restoran Chan Meng Kee at SS2 served the best wantan mee.

For those who are not into noodles, you can have their nasi lemak with either luncheon meat or fried chicken (go for the luncheon meat). ^_~ For a Chinese-style nasi lemak, they do justice to the sambal (but a little on the salty side). The thing they need to improve is the always the over-fried egg.

Over here, you can choose from four types of noodles, namely lai fun, kuey teow, mee hoon or mee and whether you would like it in soup or dry. Then, proceed to choose which types of meat you would like with your noodles. I love the soup version with lai fun, which is flavorful, robust and appetizing, thanks to the addition of preserved salted vegetable (kiam chai). We would usually go for Option BA, which comes with beef balls, tripe and tripe. The accompanying chilli dip is pretty kickass too!

I have been wanting to write about this Chilly Pan Mee story for the longest time in my blog. You see, the first time I heard about the chilly Pan Mee was from my youngest daughter who is a great fan of it. It's their favourite hideout for comfort food, especially after some stressful exam. Here goes my tasting experience of the Chilly Pan Mee; paying tribute to my daughter's all-time top favourite comfort food to eat! 😍😍😍

Penang White Curry Mee, 8 ringgit + Prawn Mee, 8 ringgit. Ooo them noodle were da bomb! I know some of you guys like the gravy a lil watery but not me. I like them thicker, with more flavors and spice. Both the noodles were delicious. The Penang White Curry Mee was milky and spicy. It came in a generoud portion. Notice the pork blood cubes? I got 8-10 of those in one serving and loads of tauhu, mini prawns, fishcakes and taugeh. The Prawn Mee – I liked very much. The broth was reddish, orangey which itself was able to indicate the right amount/level of spiciness and upon tasting it – yup, it was just the right amount with that much needed sweetness that usually accompanies good prawn mee. It came with dried shrimp, taugeh and egg. I loved it.

I was skeptical that an assam laksa kiosk in a supermarket would be any good...but then how many times have we been told to "never to judge a book by its cover"? Plus the aroma of the assam laksa would waft through the air and get to me each time I descend the escalator to the supermarket! :D
