Their food was a little less expensive and felt a little bit more down to earth than Candlenut.
Prices are reasonable at The Blue Ginger and it is good value Peranakan food in my opinion. It is worth a return trip for sure.
It is recommended to go in a group so you could order more dishes to try but please do remember to make a reservation before going. Hope you have an enjoyable meal like we did.
The curry chicken was tender, lemak and coconuty, although I felt the flavours were a bit mild. The ngoh hiong and chap chye were similarly lightly flavoured.
That fried chicken thigh was exceptional. Meat was moist, no undercook parts, tender that you could get it off the bone easily and generously flavoured with spices and salt.
