A visit to Ranau would not be complete without stopping by at Poring Hot Springs, a tropical retreat that caters to everyone. Poring comes from a KadazanDusu...
Each bath tub is only comfortable for 1 person to soak his whole body in it. It becomes crowded for 2 and nearly impossible for 3. There are 2 valves connected to each tub to control the temperatre of the water. The green valves control cold water and the red controls hot water from the natural hot spring. Here comes the question, how long do you have to wait for the bath tub to be filled with warm water? The answer is 2 hours. Yes, you need to wait for at least 2 hours to have a tub filled with warm water and the wait gets longer for warmer water.

A visit to the Kundasang War Memorial fits nicely with a Kundasang day trip. I don’t think it’s a must-see like Sosodikon Hill, though. The gardens and the state of the toilets could be a lot better. Even if you find the war stuff too depressing, the view of Mount Kinabalu from the terrace could be worth it if you want a convenient viewing spot close to town.

Kinabalu National Park, home to the magnificent Mount Kinabalu, is also Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site. While the main attraction of Kinabalu Park is, of course, the climb up to Mount Kinabalu, the park also offers many hiking trails by the base of the mountain.

Tun Sakaran Marine Park comprises of 8 islands, their surrounding reefs, and sea…. It is said that the islands are formed from quaternary pyroclastic material, which had been ejected during explosive volcanic activity, a long long time ago… And from that, Bodgaya island, Boheydulang island, Tetagan island, Selakan island, Sebangkat island, Maiga island, Sibuan island and Mantabuan island were formed….
In Semporna, there are 3 things you MUST do which are Sipadan is the snorkeling and diving paradise, Mataking island is the perfect place to stay and the Boheydulang Island at Tun Sakaran Marine Park is the island you need to climb their peak for this amazing view. The price is RM320/pax for 2 dives and for non divers would be RM160/pax. It is inclusive of equipment, boat transfer and lunch.
Throughout my Sabah Trip On A Bike, Tegudon Tourism Village is my most favorite campsite. Campsite by the stunning river, view of the majestic Mount Kinabalu, exquisite spot for stargazing, hanging bridge to the paddy field across the river, and a hiking trail to a waterfall nearby… What more do you need!!
There are quite a few hiking trails in the park, which are short but quite nice. The signs are not quite clear, so it is better to download hiking trail map app. We hike the tupai and burung trail..
