Chin Swee Caves Temple is a Taoist temple that’s set on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land in Genting Highlands, where locals often frequent for religious rituals and enjoy the serene atmosphere. It was erected in honour of Reverend Master Chin Swee, a Buddhist monk from the Fujian Province who was renowned for his ability to summon rain and drive away evil spirits.
Chin Swee Caves Temple is a religious site located on a scenic location that is 4,600 feet above sea level and just beneath the peak of Genting Highlands where the Resorts World Genting is located.
When you are at the premises of the Chin Swee Temple you are never far away from the benign grace of the Buddha. A 15-meter high statue of Buddha in serene meditation overlooks the temple and the beautiful vistas stretching below. The calm visage of the Buddha is rendered even more ethereal as clouds brush past it, gently caressing the divine presence.

The ruins of St. Paul’s Church is located at the summit of St. Paul’s Hill and was constructed by Portuguese fidalgo (nobleman) captain, Duarte Coelho, in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving his life during a storm at sea.
Interior of the roof-less church; smelt rich of history, i was intrigued by the many large stone plaques by the walls; they are tombstones previously scattered around the church and were affixed in the 1930s.

One of the attraction here at Pantai Redang Beach (热浪沙滩) Sekinchan is this big old wishing tree entangled with red ribbons knotted with coins. Visitors can write their wishes on a red ribbon and tie with a coin and throw it up to the three.
A giant cave temple, and a park with pond, and a very small space for boat and bicycle rental. The cave is huge, cooling with many statues for Chinese gods. The park is beautiful too, surrounded by..
While Sam Poh Tong is overrated in my opinion, Kek Lok Tong is sorely underrated. Even though Kek Lok Tong has a bunch of positive reviews online (more than Sam Poh Tong), it doesn’t get half the recognition that Sam Poh Tong receives. It is completely omitted from some top Ipoh attraction lists and only makes it on to more broad lists. I didn’t even know about this temple until my mom suggested that I visit it.
Hovering in the middle of the pond is the Goddess of Mercy, Kwan Yin.
Points to note: – RM2 for parking – RM12 for sarong (to cover up if you are wearing short pants) – Visitors are allowed to wear shoes climbing up but devotees are encouraged to climb barefooted. You can also climb barefooted.
这整个庙宇到处都可以看到栩栩如生的雕像, 各个都是颜色鲜艳亮丽的, 简直就像把调色盘往墙上一扔的感觉

Though not a huge place, the building design and architecture looks very nice. No photography allowed in the inside of the main building. There is a garden with a koi pond to take a break.
To be honest, I’m surprised there isn’t more publicity for Kwan Imm Temple as a tourist attraction, given it’s rich history and beautiful architecture. While locals seem to know about it, I wouldn’t have found out about the place if I hadn’t specifically been googling “places to visit in Klang”.
Considering how many visitors it gets on a daily basis, Sam Poh Tong should have much better maintenance. Its rundown appearance and general uncleanliness make this temple feel overrated and not the best cave temple in Ipoh that every blog says it is. The history is deeper at Sam Poh Tong if you’re into that, but if you’re interested more in visuals, Kek Look Tong – which no one has even heard of – is much more impressive and well-kept in my opinion.
Top Ten listmakers obviously love this place, but even Ipohites seem to share this preference for Sam Poh Tong. During my first visit to Ipoh, my cousin only took me to see this temple. He claimed that the other two weren’t worth seeing, despite their close proximity. If you have lots of time in Ipoh, Sam Poh Tong and the other two temples are a couple of hours well spent.

Said to be the most popular temple in the district of Muar at the Malaysian state of Johor, Nam Thien Temple (南亭寺) is a religious abode that appeared in the middle of nowhere.
The Buddhist section for the famous Nam Thien Temple at Muar wasn't damaged in the year 2020 fire that consumed the main Taoist structure and given that one is now older than the other; I thought it's better to dedicate a separate posting.
