Went to Ding Tele 鼎特乐 for lunch a while back. They're located at Cheong Chin Nam Rd at Beauty World which has a lot of yummy food there. They specialize in Shanghainese cuisine and their Sheng Jian Bao is a must order!!
Overall, Ding Te Le offers a very good Shanghainese staple dishes.
The Signature Pan-fried Crispy Pork Soup Buns ($4.80/4 pieces), aka sheng jian baos, have a thick skin which sports a nice char. Take a bite of the bao, and flavourful and hearty soup will ooze out.
Being the budget diner that I am, Shanghai Renjia truly stole my heart with their affordable house-made food.
Their xiao long bao, springrolls, fried eggs and noodles are also excellent!
Xiaolongbao is by far the most famous of Shanghai’s dumplings, but shengjianbao are just as beautiful.
qood quality Fried Xiao Long Baos which are delicious & affordable, Shang Hai Fried Xiao Long Bao @ Chinatown is a cheap and good food stall
Now, I have found a spot to get delicious sheng jian bao, yay! This is a little treasure of savoury meaty goodness and you only pay a fraction of the price as compared to having it in a restaurant. Be prepared to wait especially during lunch hours.
阔别十年,嬿青私房菜卷土重来,刚在去年重新开业。
The bright spot at lunch was the nice service staff who made sure that our teacups were never dry and messy plates refreshed.
Prices are affordable, making it a good choice location for budget friendly; delicious; nourishing & healthy daily meals.
All in all, the prices are reasonable and from what I saw of the other tables, the portion was good too. Suitable for family and friends.
Overall, Jim Garden 珍厨明苑私房菜 (Zhen Chu Ming Yuan Si Fang Cai) impresses with its casual, relaxed ambience, professional and courteous service, and delicious artisanal food that is nutritious yet affordable.
