Soft qq skin, crunchy turnip, and fragrant shrimps. Good soon kueh.
Ah Yee offers quality and variety of traditional Chinese snacks that are made fresh. I do not mind making a repeat purchase if I'm around that corner again.
It is good that Ah Yee or Aunty has decided to revive her soon kueh business. It is also good that her son is helping to take the business to another level.
One of the longest time stall in Chinatown Complex Market & Food Centre. Here’s your plate of heartwarming CCF!
"Nice!" The rice flour rolls were cut into pieces using a scissor in a fast motion then served in a pool of sweet sauce then drizzled with chilli sauce and sprinkled with sesame seeds.
You have to make an effort to come early for a plate because they only get enough stock from the supplier to sell out in a couple of hours.
The popiah was fresh and clean tasting with nice crispy bits and mild chilli.
The popiah was fresh tasting, crisp and juicy, with gentle chilli, and a good amount of crispy bits providing a nice crunch and savouriness. Quite nice.
This is one of the best popiah I have eaten. Give it a try!

Coconut wasn't dry and not as sweet while the Peanut with Red Bean was significantly tastier due to the combination that I first had from a stall around Telok Ayer that had since closed down. My craving was curbed by both pancakes and I love the fact that the batter wasn't the ultra-crispy type which I feel was more biscuit than pancake.

The pork satay was especially good, as it would have the odd piece of fatty meat, which would give a burst of flavour and fragrance as you bite into it.
I like my breakfast sandwiches savoury.
I like these guys enough that I'll come back
It's definitely worth a try!
The snacks from Tai Cheong were as we had expected. The bolo bao was rich and satisfying and egg tarts crumbly and smooth.
Aside from the egg that had turned into a crisp; the radish cake retained a nice bite that was complemented by the addition of preserved radish (known as chai po). The two prawns were good to have even though not really a necessity. Overall, my feel is that this would be a plate of carrot cake that many of the older generation would enjoy.

Old school stall recommended by EatBook.Ah. The soon kueh or bamboo shoot kueh had nice crisp and lightly savoury fillings and was refreshing, with a good bite. The yam ang ku kueh was not bad in terms of uniqueness although normal in term of taste and texture.
