Ooohh..la..la... the meat was tender and juicy, even better than the one we had on our very first visit. The tomato sauce which is similar to the one served with the Patatas Bravas enhanced the riblicious experience. We regretted not going with our gut feeling of getting a full rack. Next time!
To be honest, I was not hungry at full capacity (surprise, surprise) and I myself may have been underwhelmed by the experience. But still, my brother and I ate with gusto as we always do.
Verdict: It was an enjoyable Spanish lunch, a very unexpected one indeed. The food definitely good enough to induce repeat visits.
There are many other items on La Cocina’s menu that we have yet to try, but I’m looking forward to it the next time I’m in Taipan; especially the paellas. Service is friendly, and although prices are above average, they are competitive in comparison with some of the higher-end Spanish restaurants.
Overall, although a bit oily, else it was not bad.
La Cocina is a Spanish term for “The Kitchen” or “Art of Cooking”, under the Head-Chef/Managaing Direct Mr. Jeganathan; it has been serving Spanish Food at USJ Taipan for more than 10 years.
Here's the location.
We were amazed by the quality of the 1/2 Roasted Moroccan Chicken... grilled to perfection and the skin was brushed with Balsamic reduction, slightly sweet but with a bitter end (due to the singed skin). The meat was fork-tender and perfectly good on its own but even better to enjoy with Sea Salt or a tangy Thai Green Chili dip.
おまかせ Omakase or "留给我吧" means "Leave it to the Chef"! There are no menu for the Omakase, the Chef presents to you what he/she has prepared for the meal course.
[Pork-free] If you’re looking to take a break from street food in Penang, check out Shokudo Niban, which serves Japanese tapas.
Reasons to visit Shokudō Niban Hin Bus Depot: tasty street-style Japanese food that is immediately satisfying; fun setting; progressive concept where every staff member owns a piece of the pie.
We could not keep away from ordering the Chicken Karaage Bao Burger. The pillowy bao had a lovely combination – packed with juicy chicken karaage with airy crisp coating, salty punch of mentaiyaki and sharp flavors of home pickled kyuri. Accompanying chili paste provides a spicy kick to the bao however we recommend to enjoy simply on its own!
All in all, a lunch set that’s value for money and delicious, highly recommended.
Lamb, lobster, dry-aged chicken. These are some of the tempting choices you'd find Joon Dining's Set Lunch...minus the princely sum. The restaurant’s 3 course Set Lunch at RM48++ per person and 4 course for RM60++ per person is a good deal these days.
Overall, we really enjoyed the food here at Joon – with the Izumidai, pasta, and scallops being our favourite dishes, in that order.
Reasons to try the new craft cocktails KL menu at Woobar: cocktails that come with crazy imagination; delicious light bites; fun setting.
Reasons to visit Woobar for the Mickey Mouse High Tea: trendy upbeat atmosphere; gourmet sweets and savouries – try the peanut butter macaroons and red velvet cupcake; a delightful ode to childhood and all the wonder and whimsy it possesses The Mickey Hi-Tea at W Kuala Lumpur is priced at RM168+ for two people on weekdays and RM188+ on the weekends. It is available from 3 pm – 5 pm at Woobar on level 8 from the 15th of March until the 14th of April, 2019. It can also be ordered as a vegetarian set.
Not a big fan of alcohol because I get migraines whenever I have them, even in small amounts, but taste wise, these were not bad at all. I especially liked the High Five as it only had a faint taste of gin, with a stronger hint of honey.
All in all, Salud Tapas is a good place to experience Spanish food in Melaka, especially if you’re not familiar with the cuisine.
Reasons to visit Salud Tapas Malacca, Spanish Restaurant and Bar: Stylish setting; GREAT lively playlist; authentic tapas; try Maria’s home recipe for sangria.
Reasons to visit Atas Speakeasy Ipoh: craft cocktails; sustainability focus; sit at the bar and learn something new by chatting with the very knowledgeable bartender, Eugene; a reservations-only experience.
Overall, the staff were very attentive, bartender is really friendly who has a sense of humour.
Reasons to try the Kikubari menu: elegant setting; exceptional sake pairings; an intriguing line-up of dishes.
Reasons to try out Meatless Monday at Kikubari, DC Mall: it’s a culinary journey, not just a meal out; the kitchen team have nailed both taste and presentation; stylish and intimate setting; incredible wine and sake menu; a gentle introduction to meat-free eating.
Reasons to visit: Pairing sake with food brings out the amazing flavour notes of an understated and lesser-known liquor; Chef Jun is amazingly creative and talented and deserves to be recognized for her vision and skills; the Ebi-katsu Sandwich might be one of the best things you eat in 2018; french fries are always good, but french fries cooked in beef fat and mounded with truffle shavings are unreal.
Charcoal Grilled Spanish Octopus (RM 38) If you are big fans of Octopus, go for their Charcoal Grilled Spanish Octopus where the octopus are perfectly grilled with the aromatic char taste. It is sides with the potato confict, smoked paprika and alioli.
在吉隆坡,如果想要嚐到正宗的西班牙料理,到 Bangsar South The Sphere 的 【Buena Brasa 】 就對了!
Round up our dinner with La Piña as our dessert. Extremely crispy version of pineapple pancake, topped with candied pecan, fresh strawberries and mint leaves. Finished with Vanilla ice cream. A delightful dessert commingled of sweet, salt and sour sensation.
Tomato Cappuccino is tomato soup served in a coffee cup and looks just like a latte with an artful swirl adorning the foam. Baby octopus, pesto, corn chips and cheese foam, take the liquid way above the standard red tradition. We scoop through the layers and take our first spoonful. Wow! This soup is incredible. It’s intensely rich, so even though we’re both diving in for more, it is possible to share. It’s a must order for sure.
Reasons to visit Little Pig PJ: charming setting; excellent menu of contemporary Spanish tapas with some Asian twists; must order the Crispy Pork Belly Eel Bao, Roasted Cauliflower, Duroc Pork Belly Paella, and don’t miss the LP Mini Burger & Fries for dessert.
Crispy Pork Belly Eel Bao Impressive Juicy Bao! I love how this juicy bao is made where one can enjoy the awesomelicious bao which is packed with the creamy touch of pork belly and ell with it. The bread comes fluffy with the crispy-licious bun. Awesome and perfect!
By reading the description in the menu, it is definitely one of a must order item for me. Crispy Pork Belly Eel Bao @ RM 34 – 2 Homande bao with Spanish Duroc, Pork Belly, Dutch Eel, Pickled Cauliflower, Teriyaki Sauce, Egg Yolk gel. Not your usual bao that it use tecnical skils to craft on it. With the egg gel on the top and stacks of flavours is just pretty spot on!
The Smoked Duck Breast on the other hand, was delicious. The Duck Breast was thickly cut with a tender, juicy texture and served with sweet-sour berry sauce. We also agreed that the smokiness was apparent and it was overall, a dish well-cooked.
Gambas Al Ajillo (RM33), from the south of Spain is beautifully done here, with large, plump prawns cooked in olive oil, garlic and chili. That garlicky oil is so simple yet so good... I'd love more bread to soak it all up!
Reasons to visit El Toro Loco KL: a pleasant indoor/ outdoor setting in KL’s city centre; one of the few places in the city with a late night kitchen; authentic Spanish recipes; must try De Txaka and De Champiñon Iberico pinchos, Ceviche Agazpachado, Paella and be sure to save space for at least one of the desserts – chocolate lovers should go with the mousse but those curious about the subtle differences found in crème brulee around the world the Spanish version, Crema Catalana should definitely be given a taste.
The De Champinon Iberico (RM24) was one of the best things I ate here - grilled confit button mushroom sits atop lightly toasted German sourdough bread with a slice of the finest Jamon Iberico. Loved the presentation and how this small bite was bursting with big flavours. Simply phenomenal.
Lammy Chops (RM 23) One can enjoy the citrus marinated lamb chops which comes with the robust flavours with no gammy taste in it. The meat remains tender and juicy too.
外皮金黃色的炸豬腩肉肥瘦適中,外脆內嫩且多汁的極致口感,再蘸上秘制辣椒醬還達到畫龍點睛之效。
Supreme Pulled Pork Pizza (Pineapple Pork Pizza with Bacon, Jalapenos & Cilantro) @ RM 21 The pizza crust was crispy and top with generous ingredients of pineapple, pork, bacon, jalapenos and cilantro.
Pork Ribs with Strawberry Sauce RM19.00 The ribs glazed with sweet and tangy strawberry sauce was tender yet crisp. Simply irresistible and pairs beautifully with the bold flavoured cabernet sauvignon.
Malas- supposedly spelled as Malaysian Tapas but makes a lousy portmanteau when named Malas. If it isn’t obvious enough that it actually meant lazy in bahasa, well then one could easily identify that and see it in their operating staffs because they are definitely living up to the name of this place for sure. The service crew seriously need a massive encouragement (when we are the only customer) to get them paying more attention to the customers; let alone requesting them to walk over to our table. Dainty choices are there on the menu to spoilt the customers but if Malas were to be judged solely on this alone, it would be a breakthrough for local flavour for sure. Though very unfortunately, the rest of the dining experience left it a few pegs short.
Chicken Vindaloo with Rice, 12.90 ringgit. This was yummmm! Different but yummy. What you’d get on the plate is rice + half a thigh with gravy + papadum + cucumber. I loved the chicken and the gravy, loved it a lot that I had to request for extra gravy, lol. Yea, I am one of those who enjoys the ‘banjir’ effect, making sure every bit of rice has gravy on it. Good stuff, yawww. The, there were the papadums. Let me tell you, the crackers that accompanied the noodles were bad enough, now this, the papadums, was worst. I just do not get it – if it is soo bad, why put it on the plate? It had no crunchiness whatsoever, it felt a lil bit like how it was suppose to be prior to getting fried. Now this, I had to request for replacement because I love them papadums, which they did. The new ones were as they should be, crunchy. So yea, minus the papadum blunder, the rest of the dish was yummy. Loved it.
I like the food there in Patio Bar de Tapas.
Patio的Paella海鲜炖饭是全城数一数二的
