This place served some of the best dosa/tosai I have ever tasted, albeit more expensive than usual. Onion Rava Dosa (RM 15) is crispy and tasty, with great chutney. Rava Idly (RM 11.50) is pretty..
For something memorable from MTR 1924, you must try their MTR’s Rava Idli. This particular food item was invented by its founder, Yagnanarayana. During World War II when India was hit by the great Bengal famine resulting in the short supply and rationing of rice, Yagnanarayana modified his idlis with semolina flour (rava) to replace the rice idly turning them into a filling and healthy steamed savoury cakes that go down in history.
Masala Dosa was perfect. I liked the crispiness and texture, Yum!! Oh my god “THE GHEE”!! It adds a great flavour to the dosa. Masala Dosa @ RM 8.50
What do We Like about Purple Cane Tea Cuisine, The Gardens Mall? -Tea infused soup served in a tea pot and drink with tea cup -Variety of set meals to choose from
One of the signature for the restaurant is this Black Tea Curry Lions Mane Mushrooms. The curry is not too thick, yet you would easily need to bowl of rice for this. So easy to eat, super mild spicy with mild creamy. Instead of santan the replace it with Almond milk.
This looks nice doesn't it? It even has two large pieces of Huai Shan (淮山 - wild yam) which I thought was daikon until I bite into them.
A pink themed vegetarian bar restaurant. Pink Bombshell Burger (RM 34) has the sauce of a burger, but the beetroot patty is just mashes without the taste and texture of a good patty. The sides of..
The smoked tempeh was prepared in a different marinade from the tempeh skewers. I am guessing it could be a combination of 𝘀𝗼𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲 haha! While it didn’t taste very smoked, it was quite 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆. Tasted fine for the first few bites but got slightly overwhelming for the remaining bites.
Reasons to visit The Hungry Tapir: beautiful setting; excellent and varied plant-based menu.
The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable.
Reasons to visit: comprehensive selection of Indian vegetarian dishes; efforts made to reduce sugar, unhealthy fats and eliminate MSG; our favourite dishes – Multani Paneer Tikka, Pani Puri, Mango Bliss, Spinach and Pumpkin Soups.
One of the highlights is the Nasi Kerabu (RM 10.90). The Nasi Kerabu comes awesomely delicious where they use the blue pea leaf plucked from their garden itself which is organic and pure. The bowl of the hearty blue rice is accompanied with the tofu with soy sauce, vegetarian chicken in the creamy curry sauce and sides with the condiments at the side.
Reasons to visit The Black Cat Café: An entire menu of vegetarian options packed full of local flavours; an extensive drinks menu; don’t miss the Masala Tea or a Broski for those wanting a good pick-me-up; must try the vegan eggs, Nasi Kerabu and, of course, the Chocolate Peanut Butter Slice is a dream.
Pumpkin fried rice with a new look and more ingredients such as broccoli and crackers but less cubes of pumpkin at MYR 15.80 nett. Won't order this next time because I prefer more cubes of pumpkin.
My lunch - assam laksa at MYR 12.90 nett. The broth is very tasty I must say - full of various spices which I cannot identify. My mouth does not feel that it is spicy but my stomach was burning when I finished eating this dish.
As I don't think I have ordered this Brown Rice with Pumpkin dish before, I had it this time at MYR 12.90 nett. The Brown Rice turned out to be fried rice with organic vegetarian soy sauce which is quite fragrant. As the rice has been stir fried with soy sauce, I could not tell whether it is Brown Rice as stated on the menu or not. With the soy sauce I find the rice to be very flavourful. I would prefer it to be just plain Brown Rice with more cubes of pumpkin and more vegetables on the side. Nevertheless I may have this dish again should my friend decides to eat here next time.
Reasons to visit: healthy, gluten-free options, balanced flavors, and that amazing Ganga Aloo Chat. Also try their unbeatably-priced Sunday brunch for only RM 25!
I especially loved their pumpkin parathal. It had the usual sweetness that comes with pumpkin while also spicy. You can eat it on its own or have it with rice, it is delicious either way. Their payasam was da bomb, real delicious. There were tiny bits of wheat – sago lookalike that was chewy and it complimented the thick sweetness of the payasam real well. Yum!
The Mushroom Fried Rice was real nice. Even after 10 years, it still taste the same. It is a simple dish – rice, with plenty of mushrooms, onions and bell pepper but the ingredients + the spices, da bomb. Its’s vegetarian and while I almost always need meat, this is one dish I can go without. The fried rice comes with 2 sides – mooru with onions and cubed vegetables in gravy. Overall, I enjoyed this dish.
整体来说我觉得这里的食物很棒,算是我在雪隆区吃过最好吃的素食料理,价钱也合理,只可惜地点距离有点远,要不然我一定是常客!
Their Kesari was absolutely heavenly. One excellent way to wrap up a meal. I would rate this at 10/10
Reasons to visit: an elegant Indian fine dining vegetarian experience in Kuala Lumpur; glitzy setting; Jain, vegan and gluten-free diets can be catered to with advance reservation.
The burger was real good. I would not mind having it again. The handmade patty was thick, crispy and crunchy. Tastewise, flavorful and yummy. Topped with a generous portion of fried enoki mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage and a creamy butter sauce? Delicious it was. The dish came with a side of potato wedges.
Just like my previous visit, their Karuvattu Kulambu was awesome. Thick and it comes with lots of add on's and the taste is so authentic. 9/10 shall be my rating for this
Once again, their Potato Cutlet was so pure and full of potatoes unlike many other restaurants that make a sub-standard version of it. To me, this was one of the best that I have tasted. Similarly, their Mutton Varuval was heavenly. It has been a long time since I tasted one that was this good. Again, I shall rate both of these items at 10/10.
Bone Marrow Mutton Curry (RM12.50 for 2 pieces) The curry was indeed addictive and for those that love the finger licking goodness can chew off the tendon and muscular meat of the bone and not forgetting to suck off all the marrow from the inner bones. Take note this delicacy is only available on Wednesday, Weekends and Public Holiday.
Verdict: Overall, service is friendly and the banana leaf rice was decent.
This time around, their Sambar tasted better than my last visit. It was a little more concentrated and they seemed to be generous with the ingredients. Similarly, their Vegetable Kulambu was to my liking as well. Both curries deserve a rating of 8/10.
Reasons to visit: the variety and creativity of all the dishes and the option to try everything in one sitting through the degustation menu. Keep an eye out for the Sunday brunch – definitely something to return for.
Reviews of vegan restaurant Loving Cafe in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 'The food tatse is normal. My personal opinion, the food a little bit lack of the tatse, too plain. The asam laksa i tried is not spicy and sour, a little bit out of expect.'
The Zen House Sashimi Moriawase comes addictively good. The sashimi is just perfect where every piece of the sashimi is really taste alike as it is.
We wanted to take away and they had skilfully packed them with layers of plastic between the Appam's so that they do not stick on to one another. I have not seen this Sri Lankan variety of Appam made elsewhere except in Ceylonese homes and functions. Except that of late, we do have some Sri Lankan restaurants that do have these but they are sold at premium prices. I believe that this is the only place where you could get them in a stall like concept. The Appam's were perfect. The plain Appam's were priced at RM 1.50 each and the ones with Brown Sugar are priced at RM 1.70 each. I would rate these Appam's at 9/10 . Definitely some good stuff !
虽然并唔能够与我家昔日的古早味相提并论,但系一样好味道,回头率绝对高达百分之七十五巴仙以上,必吃喔~~~
