Marginally better than the Yuzu Raspberry, I just don't think I will be returning for their sliced cakes anytime soon. And not to worsen matters, their cheesecakes as introduced are their densest cakes with plenty of cheese and chocolate. Oh. My. Goodness.

The food is bereft of finesse and confidence of a mature chef. The dishes we had that day were rather uneven; some good, some middling, and one terrible.

I suspect Cheek By Jowl is one of those restaurants that diners can get divided on. That you would either get excited about for its odd, somewhat creative pairing; or feel some dishes might need more fine-tuning in terms of balance.

About 2/3 of the seating area is al-fresco. There are some seats indoors but I wouldn’t recommend sitting there because the space is rather narrow, it’s directly next to the ordering queue and the cooking smell is stronger there.
