5/10. Good ambience (and free WiFi - just ask the staff for the password), but I’m probably not coming back here for the food (or at least the breakfast/lunch/dinner). In my opinion, has many similarities to Mei (also considered a fairly healthy eating spot) and I just think that the quality - at a similar price point - is just much better at Mei. Probably the reason for the slightly harsher review, but a nice spot to have coffee (or at least it has the ambience for it)!
I went for the Hoisin Smoked Duck Rice Roll (RM16), which came in a generous portion with Japanese rice, tempura mushroom and onsen egg. Considering the price vs portion, it was pretty value for money! The duck had a sweet flavour which was closer to a teriyaki glaze, and the meat was tender but not gamey. Loved nibbling on the flavourful extra layer of duck fat on the top ! The tempura mushrooms weren’t greasy and gave the dish a crispy element. Egg was perfectly poached. All in all, a solid rice bowl.
There is a "cool look" to both the interior and exterior of Garage 51, with an mordernist and industrial deco, coupled with reburbished huge oil drums as seats at the entrance, plus the huge mural painting on the big wall outside; you can't miss it. And definitely serves up a good Latte!
The Lab Burger (Beef) seems a bit dry, with thin patty. Ayam Kau Hijau is better, thick and juicy. The Awesome Fries are definitely better than the Nachos. The fried chicken is surprisingly good,..
Here's the location.
Technically, I fell in love with the sauce that was served with the nachos. It was absolutely finger-licking goodness. I was trying to figure out what was that extra 'kick' that they added into the sauce and sprinkled on the nachos, but the only closest clue to that answer would be "curry powder". It definitely added that 'definition' to the whole meal's flavour.
This one is the sriracha chicken plus spaghetti carbonara which was only about RM20. It’s definitely filling and is value for money. The pasta has a lot of mushrooms in it which enriched the taste as well.
After Black Cafe finds its footing within the cafe scene as being superior in every which way. Wooden panels designed to give it the modern feel, food made for the modern man/woman in mind, it’d feel like your in heaven’s doorstep - foodie heaven.
Baked egg with chicken pepperoni RM 13.90: Egg, carrot, button mushroom, capsicum, garlic, mint, tomato sauce, chilli pepper with black charcoal toast Look like Shakshouka that has been given the trimmed down version, it was a little dry. Unusual given that there's egg but it had almost fully cooked. Some may argue this is the stuff of breakfast, I think anytime's a good time for them eggs.
Kedai macam ni standard la, makanan murah, air mahal. Kami minum lemonade dia sedap jugak, walaupun mahal sikit. Menyegarkan~~
My Personal Opinion Although I won't bother eating those commercially produced meat and frozen fish, the chicken chop itself is worth trying for the price and taste if you happen to be in the mall looking for cheaper eats.
Slurpy Chicken (RM 17) We had their Slurpy Chicken where the chicken comes simply juicy and moist. The portion is pretty huge to be enjoyed and they are deliciously sides with the al-dente pasta. Just perfect to my tastebuds.
Verdict: Overall, we have a great dine-and-wine experience here all thanks to the warm and seductive ambiance. Looking forward to revisit The Barn and try its steak and meat selections next time.
The Barn Wine Bar Sunway Pyramid. Nice place. Great selection of food and the ones we tried didn't pretty much let us down though not out of this world or I have not had before elsewhere. Of course, when its a wine bar, The Barn Wine Bar I reckon will be the watering hole for those who want to wind down for reasons only they know best. Can you afford a meal in The Barn Wine Bar? Subjective to what your order and why not to treating yourself when you feel you should.
The BAR°N has officiated a Grand Launch of their latest outlet at Sunway Pyramid, celebrating another milestone for The BAR°N. The Cafe makes a wonderful Latte, I should love to try the food here in the near future!
Malaysian would love this just like Jan does. Mee Ketam (RM29.80) is her favorite food there! Deep fried soft shell crab is super crispy and very well-cooked, paired with breaded poached egg. They considered this as a baba nyonya dish, by adding some peranakan spice and fragrance to enhance the taste. Featured their chef secret recipe that cannot be revealed, don’t hesitate to order because you’ll be surprised of how delicious it is!
Have enjoyed the Happy Hour today with beer and beer bites! Cheers! Food today: 7 / 10 👍👍😐😐 Price: 6 / 10 👍 Service: 6.5 / 10 👍 Value for Money: 6 / 10 👍 Ambiance: 6.5 / 10 👍👍
Overall, the pub food was good but I would say that for me, coming here would be more for the pub experience than the food itself. While previously against the idea, (How do you even talk in such noisy places??) I can definitely see the appeal of hanging out in places like these where there’s always such a joyful, high energy vibe all around. For those wanting to give the pub experience a try, The Brew House is just as good a place to start as any!
Verdict? I’m thrilled to say that it did not disappoint! The flavour is almost exactly the same as Jollibee in the Philippines. Skin was deep fried to golden, crunchy perfection, meat was tender, juicy, and flavourful, and the chicken pieces were large but cooked thoroughly. There is a slight difference in spiciness level: I believe the spicy chicken here is much spicier than the Filipino version, which I think caters more to Malaysian taste buds. Gravy also tasted more peppery compared to Philippine Jollibee. But it’s not a downside (to me at least).
After how many years of not being able to go back to our home country The Philippines. We cannot explain how much excited we are hearing the news regarding this. After how many months of waiting and craving we finally able to eat our favorite food from our favorite fast food chain. Our cravings were definitely satisfied!
In summary: GRBG is worth visiting at least once for the memorable experience, though we did not find the food spectacular enough to warrant a second visit. While prices likely include the premium of the Gordon brand, we think it is unwarranted considering the portion and the 1.5-hour time limit.
Cheese Lava Molten Cake, 21 ringgit This was da’ bomb. Yum yummmmmmm! and it sure was aesthetically pleasing. You can see that they put equal amount of time on the presentation as they did on the taste itself. I chose this particular option of molten cake because I cant say I’ve tasted the cheesy version, all I’ve had prior to this was the usual chocolate, chocolate and chocolate.
As I chew, bites where I teared at the curry leaf infused into the salted egg yolk custard and everything else within my mouth cavity and the result was a medley of flavours laced with the aroma of the leaves. It was an interesting mouthful and I would encourage you not to push aside the leaves, as most people would.
This place is dedicated for the love of molten cakes. Matcha Molten Lava (RM15) If you are matcha fans, you definitely love this very much <3
It’s a casual dining restaurant, Afro-portuguese frame- grilled chicken in the choice of lemon and herbs, mild, hot or extra hot peri peri sauce ( a sauce that was first developed in nearby Mozambique and further refined in South Africa before being exported to other Portuguese territories and mainland Portugal ).
My favourite dish here when I’m craving for something savoury is the Salted Egg Yolk Pasta. The pasta’s texture is just perfect, and the sauce is rich and creamy without being cloying, coating each strand of pasta with delicious umami. Another highlight is the deep fried chicken karaage, which are juicy, and moist, perfectly battered, and very crispy.
What do We Like about Fluffed Cafe @ Sunway Mentari? -Creative waffles
The highlight would be the free flow of sauces which I think a surprisingly good dipping sauce for the Fish & Crisps meal and are quite addictive.
For relatively good Western choices and definitely good Coffee in a comfortable setting, "Breakfastology" is worth visiting.
The REAL "The Manhattan Fish Market" is an All-Americal Style Seafood concept that has 180 years in the making.
Flamming Platter for Quarter (One large grilled catch of the day with their award winning flaming prawns.) Served with one big piece of dory fish, fries, squids, prawns and garlic rice. It was so delicious and the fish was so soft and smooth. I would be very happy to have this as my dinner every day.=D
The German Gastropub offers familiar menu as can be seen from its other branch of KL Wisma UOA2. Seats are comfortable and comfortable interior lighting and layout. Also behind is a Wine Cellar!
The Lancelot Semi Brunch Buffet is priced at RM268++ (with juice) per pax or RM368++ (with wine). There’s also the more affordable brunch sets at RM88++ or lunch sets at RM68++. There’s always the regular a la carte menu too. I appreciate what Lancelot tries to bring to our palates. It’s certainly a place to check out for a treat!
All in all, I had the most amazing dining experience here. Foods, ambiance, service, price everything was superb. Love the generous portion of most of the dishes too. Can't wait to come back for more.
