Since it is highly customizable, so I choose Pan Seared Salmon as my main dish and opt for Kon Loh noodles with 2 desserts, the Carrot Cake with Toffee Sauce and Egg Tart. Well, you can really taste the freshness of the salmon fish, it can feel the juiciness of its in every bite and most importantly, I don't find any bones in it. Good to go for me!
Part of the Big Three set of establishments (inexplicably stylised as Big Txree) relatively recently opened in Menara Binjai, Kopi Pot attempts to recreate one of the traditional forms of Malaysian breakfast shop, the kopitiam. Except the price.
this is a great lunch spot.
The Notorious Nasi Lemak was a best seller but at first, I was a tad reluctant to give it a go because how much better can a nasi lemak get, right? There is one in every nook and corner in the city. What is special about this one? Well, the answer to that the dish served here tasted homecooked, exactly how my mum used to make it. I loveeeee the fact that they used basmati rice, it makes all the difference. The ‘santan’ infused rice was da’ bomb. It was served hot and so, it was all warm and dense. Having it with the ‘sambal’, egg and ‘kacang’ was great. The sambal, it was neither too ‘pedas’ nor too sweet but it had enough flavor to provide that extra ‘kick.’ I enjoyed the mix of all ingredients together that we ended up requesting for extra sambal twice.
Reasons to visit The Background at REXKL: A fun place to visit with friends and family to enjoy all the sensory overload that Malaysia has to offer. Great food, drinks and quirky amenities make it a truly collective, unique experience. There are also plenty of vegan choices in the Park Life outlet (not visited today but you can find their original restaurant here for an idea of their menu).
Hope you’re having a stellar day! For cool vibes, check out Stellar in REXKL (formerly Rex cinema where your grandparents used to date).
So a nice place despite the view, very good staff, and food which was interesting, playful and generally high quality…why not full marks? The answer is the price, which was high at RM148 per set, or 2.5 times that of even the Majestic. Even if we had shared one (feasible, as we were both quite full afterwards), rather than had one each, it would still have been a hefty bill for what we got. However, as an extremely occasional treat, it was enjoyable.
So with food which was good to excellent, decent surroundings and good service, why not a top mark? Because it is really expensive. These pizzas cost RM50-60, which is a lot more than anywhere else here I’ve tried. Worth a treat if you’re a meat eater who enjoys Asian flavours, though.
Leaving totally satisfied, this pizzeria is a must visit if you are a pizza lover.
Reasons to visit: With its delightfully eclectic plating and table-ware, polished rustic Italian cuisine, and highly attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff and sommeliers, Mosto KL represents one of the freshest and best upgraded casual Italian dining experiences in the city. Hey Mosto, Mosto Italiano!
So where did I go to feast on such a platter of porcine paradise? Well, Mosto Wine Bar, and the next question would be, where is it, followed by the answer, ONE KL. I am pretty certain 90% of people won't know where it is.
Fenyx Bakery at Central Market KL is a must-visit destination, to explore and savor the taste of tradition with a contemporary twist.
Among the few dishes we tried, the Roasted Lamb Rack @ RM55.90 was our favorite. It features three pieces of extra large lamb cutlets that were expertly cooked, the meat is so tender!
