Established in 1921, Coliseum is now 98 years old! A real example of Colonial heritage of early 1900s. Walking into the restaurant and bar is truly like walking back to the history of Colonial days of Malaya.

This place is no stranger to most of the locals - they serve Western and also Asian food, with mostly Hainanese selections.Well, everyone said it's not as good as it used to be. Sadly, the quality can never be reversed back to the good old days. It's more like a place for you to reminisce childhood memories.

Timbre @ The Row is a live music bar and restaurant located at No. 60, 62 & 64 of Jalan Doraisamy in Kuala Lumpur. This area, named The Row,is known to be an antidote to Kuala Lumpur’s ubiquitous towers. The Row has adapted twenty-two 1940s shophouses into a neighbourhood of innovative and independent offices, cafes, bars, shops and an exciting event space. Akin to its sister venues in Singapore, Timbre @ The Row is designed in Timbre’s distinct warm and inviting character but with an upmarket twist. The 200-seater live music restaurant accommodates both indoor air-conditioned and alfresco dining areas, completed with a bar and a performance stage catered for an array of live entertainment and bands scheduled 5 nights a week from Wednesday to Sunday.

Lamb lovers must try the Rack of Sambal Crusted Lamb Loins @ RM34 in the tapas section. We were delighted with the generous portion and you can see that the lamb loins are given in thick juicy cuts. The accompanying sambal was great too and you can taste the dried shrimp used in it.

Lamb Chop at MYR 28 nett. These lamb chops are not as thick as some that I have eaten and they are grilled until tastily charred. The mint sauce is refreshing but the cauliflower and carrot is on the oily side. The mashed potatoes are creamy and there is a hint of coconut taste. I kept a piece of the lamb for the next day and finished the rest of the food.

I really like this place as this is one of the old coffee shops that serves traditional Hainanese food and there are not many Chinese shops around the area. Unfortunately, after a few visits, I thought they could have done better. Don't think any improvements will be done since this place has been around forever and they only cater to regulars.
