Verdict: Overall, the food was pretty satisfying, scored well in terms of flavours and presentation. But the price was a bit on higher side (for my standard) and the service can be a little prompter.

The good folks of The Private Room Wine Bar and The Pawn Room Cocktail Bar have just extended the dining options in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) with the opening of 2ND FLOOR Kitchen & Bar. Located within the same shoplot but on a different floor, this new eatery serves a good variety of contemporary European offerings.

Despite being a relatively new restaurant, 2ND Floor Kitchen & Bar has already established itself as one of the best places to eat in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Whether you are looking for a lazy brunch, drinks, desserts or an intimate dinner, 2ND Floor fits all the bills. What makes it even sweeter is the fact that they serve Iberico pork too.

Everything we had, we were immensely pleased. From the entrees to the mains to the desserts, there was nothing I could fault...including the reasonable prices for the quality of the dishes. The execution was flawless, the dishes were harmoniously put together with flavours and textures combining well. It's a place where portion sizes are just nice that going through three courses (of starter, main and dessert) comfortably in one sitting could be possible...and all from as little as RM100 per person too. Or, you could share (like we did)...3 starters, 4 mains, 2 desserts (among the four of us)....it's share-tisfaction guaranteed! ;) This place has great potential going forward with this newly curated menu. In fact, this has a place among one of my most satisfying meals of 2017. It's a must-return place! So, come on up to 2nd Floor...that's on the 1st Floor (incidentally)..for possibly one of your most enjoyable meals in awhile! ^o^

Reasons to visit: a chef who is passionate about good quality food and getting the basics right; definitely try the dishes that I cannot pronounce, the ‘2ND FLR Maultaschen’ and ‘2ND FLR Cheese Spätzle.’
