Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park: the perfect wintery Nagano day trip to see the Japanese macaque soaking in the hot water.
The world-famous “Snow Monkey Park” is located in the Valley of Yokoyu River in northern Nagano, where steep cliffs and steaming hot springs in the area resemble harsh hell-like conditions — but in a picturesque kind of way. Hence the park name Jigokudani, which literally means “Hell Valley” in Japanese.
Whatever time of year you’re visiting Japan, the country’s famous snow monkeys are a must-see attraction -and where better to visit than the famous Jigokudani Monkey Park, where they can be seen bathing in the outdoor hot springs.
Mt. Tateshina locates at the northern end of Yatsugatake Mountains. It is a beautiful corn-shaped, individual mountain. There are many big rock on the mountaintop since a new eruption spew forth lava and rocks on the corn-shaped volcano. The image of Mt. Tateshina reflected in Lake Megami (Lake Goddess) is beautiful.
3月に冬の蓼科山へ雪山登山に行ってきました。前日の降雪で登山道は美しい霧氷・樹氷風景！急登がきつかったですが、山頂から見た雲海とそこに浮かぶ八ヶ岳、南アルプスの展望が絶景でした。下山後は尖石温泉縄文の湯へ。冬山として人気なので路駐が大発生していました。早めに現地入りして駐車場確保した方がいいです。

白馬岳は個人的にもご贔屓にしている山の1つ。「北アルプスの中で一番好きな山は？」って聞かれたら、やっぱり「白馬岳！」って答えます。夏の景色が目に焼き付いているからこそ、その景色との対比も面白かったです。全面凍結した白馬大池なんか、初めて見ました。

10月下旬に軽井沢の「雲場池」に行ってきました。人気の紅葉スポットということで朝から人がたくさんいましたが、静かな池の周りを真っ赤に彩るもみじと鏡のように水面に映し出された紅葉風景がみごとでした。駅から徒歩でも訪れることができます。

8月の第一土曜日に、八ヶ岳の編笠山に登ってきました～。 久しぶりの八ヶ岳。八ヶ岳には何回も来ているけど、編笠山は未踏だったので登ってみました。
今回歩いたのは観音平から編笠山～権現岳～三ッ頭を周回するコース。山頂からの富士山や南アルプスの展望はもちろん、初夏の季節とあって稜線上にはたくさんの高山植物が花咲かせていました。
長野県の飯縄山へ雪山登山に行ってきました。 この山の魅力はなんと言っても山頂からの展望！真っ白に輝く北アルプスの山並みと岩々しい戸隠連峰～高妻山の存在感が絶大でした。
9月に中央アルプスの千畳敷〜空木岳を縦走登山してきました。宿泊した駒峰ヒュッテは空木岳山頂まで5分とロケーション抜群で、朝はご来光と雲海の絶景を見ることができました。登山道は紅葉もしていて、辛くも楽しい山小屋泊縦走ができました。
9月の連休に中央アルプスの空木岳へ山小屋泊で縦走登山に行ってきました。1日目はロープウェイを利用して千畳敷から駒峰ヒュッテまで。アップダウンの激しい稜線は疲れましたが、雲海や紅葉が素晴らしい風景でした。鎖場や岩場もありますが特に難しいところはなく、体力勝負なルートだと思いました。
10月に北アルプスの前穂高岳～奥穂高岳を1泊2日の山小屋泊で縦走登山してきました。
長野県の光城山ひかるじょうやま・長峰山ながみねやまに行ってきました。標高はそれぞれ912m、933mです。
