My original fried chicken meal at MYR 22.90+ (10% service charge = MYR 25.19 nett) and a glass of cold barley tea at MYR 1.90+ (MYR 2.01 nett). I kept 3 quarters of the rice and a little more than half of the crunchy chicken pieces for my family (they are helping me to eat my lunch nowadays) and finished the salad, kimchi and taugeh side dishes. I have two dishes of kimchi because my friend gave me hers. I prefer crispy original fried chicken like this instead of those coated with spicy or sweet thick sauce.
The food we got were most of good to great quality. The surprise favourite was the Crispy Salmon Skin in Salted Egg.

We headed to Oriental Pavilion at Jaya 33 for an oinking good time with a few swine lovers recently. Oriental Pavilion, voted as one of Asia’s Finest Chinese Restaurants by The Miele Guide and also rated as the only Chinese restaurant in KL’s Top 20 restaurants by CNN Travel Guide, has always been a popular hot spot for classic Cantonese cuisine. From dim sums to Cantonese roasts and dishes, diners can opt to dine at their main modern dining room or one of the eight private rooms available. From now till 31 July, Oriental Pavilion is running specials on their famed Roast Suckling Pig and Iberico Pork Ribs. It takes special skills of a roast master to achieve luscious roasts, so diners like us can savor sumptuous roast suckling pig, roast Peking duck and more. The Oriental Group of Restaurants roast masters has certainly nailed their roasts to perfection!
Likes: Good Chinese food, even when it's served in large scale events Dislikes: No proper QC after CNY where the restaurants starts to be less busy during off peak times.
Now I've been to Jaya 33 a couple of times, but have yet to drop by Ramen Ten & Shin Tokyo Sushi to dine there. It was pretty cool then that I had the opportunity to drop by and try out their fares last week, with a revamped menu sporting some really nice japanese cuisine and ramens.
The Chicken Karaage Ramen (RM 15.80) is indeed disappointing us. The crispy chicken karaage is served on the soup; leaving he karaage turns soggy and no longer crispiness. As for the soup; it is indeed below par where the soup is not flavourful but have a weird taste in it. Disappointed!
Verdict: Try their noodles and roast platter. Dim sums are above average, and be prepared to wait. Expect to pay about RM 30-40 per person.
