To make it more interactive, there are fun quizzes that you can take. Try your hand at trading stocks, or managing the economy using interest rates. (Failed at both and caused the economies to crash. Welp.) There is also a section where you can spin blocks and compare how inflation has caused prices of goods to increase over the years.

Naturally, my son and my two-year-old daughter’s favourite section is the Children’s Gallery which you enter through a tunnel made out of Ringgit notes in various denominations, worth one million in total. The gallery is filled with interactive games and activities that teach you about the basic concept of money and the role of a bank. There’s a pretend play section where my daughter had fun acting as a bank teller and my son as her customer. The ‘bank’ even comes with an ATM which disperses money! (before you get excited, it’s fake of course) TIP: You can ask for the ‘ATM card’ at the info counter just outside the gallery.

Muzium Negara National Museum of Malaysia Attraction

Jalan Damansara Perdana Botanical Gardens 50566 Kuala Lumpur

The National Museum is the driver of museum activities in Malaysia and has been instrumental in the restoration and preservations of the nation’s heritage. Its construction, which represents the national identity, was the climax in the history of the establishment of the earlier museums such as the Taiping Museum, Perak (1883), Sarawak Museum (1888), and Selangor Museum (1889). Erected on the site of the Selangor Museum, which was destroyed during the Second World War in March 1945, the idea for its construction was triggered in 1957 after the country’s Independence and it was officially announced in 1959. Inspired by the background of national identity, its architectural design was endorsed by the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, enabling it to become a reality in 1961. Standing proud, it was then officially opened by Malaysia’s Third Yang di-Pertuan Agong on August 1963, six years after the country’s independence.

Overall comment: Personally, we like both MyTown and Sunway Velocity. But MyTOWN has brighter, better design. Shopping opportunity wise, brands we came across, so far, quite similar with Sunway Velocity but of course, choices still can’t beat other pioneer shopping malls like One Utama, Mid Valley, Pavilion KL and so forth. Probably more retails will join in in future for more exciting shopping experience (*yay, we really look forward to this =D). For food, not too bad, as there’s our favourite restaurants like Bari Uma, Kodawari Menya Udon, Absolute Thai, Palsaik Korean BBQ. And ya, we like their Sunken Garden located outside the mall. Parking is currently FREE but the parking rate will be RM3 per hour, RM30 maximum per day (*OMG) in future, as seen on MyTown website here.
