Naturally, my son and my two-year-old daughter’s favourite section is the Children’s Gallery which you enter through a tunnel made out of Ringgit notes in various denominations, worth one million in total. The gallery is filled with interactive games and activities that teach you about the basic concept of money and the role of a bank. There’s a pretend play section where my daughter had fun acting as a bank teller and my son as her customer. The ‘bank’ even comes with an ATM which disperses money! (before you get excited, it’s fake of course) TIP: You can ask for the ‘ATM card’ at the info counter just outside the gallery.

We stayed in the largest room category, the Han Suites, which is extra spacious and ideal for our family of four. All their rooms carry names with significance to Cheong Fatt Tze; for instance, our suite was called Mandarin, in honour of Cheong Fatt Tze who was recognised as the last Mandarin of the Highest Order by Empress Dowager. The grand chambers is appointed with a comfortable king-sized bed, as well as a separate sitting room with a day bed (which converts into a bed for the kids at night) and a dining table. We loved the modern bathroom, equipped with a shower and a gorgeous clawfoot bathtub. You will also find various other contemporary comforts and amenities such as a coffee machine, complimentary mini-bar, air-conditioning and complimentary WiFi for your comfort. The traditional sarong provided is a nice touch, where guests are invited to relax like a local. Every evening, local kuih is delivered to your room as part of their turndown service.

The Chiling Falls are probably the most beautiful waterfalls of Selangor. They can be reached after an adventurous trek along the river, which has to be crossed many times. To reach the trail head, you take the road from Kuala Kubu Baru to the Gap. After passing the Selangor Dam, you cross the bridge on the Chiling river. Just after this bridge you can park you car. Follow the road for about 100 meter, the trail head is clearly indicated. Soon you will arrive an open field beside the river, with some buildings and a campsite, maintained by the Fisheries department.

I've been to Gunung Nuang more times than I care to remember already. This is one of Selangor's highest mountains, and it's not really a difficult mountain to conquer. Really. It only gets difficult when it rains - the path gets so muddy and slippery that it seems like for after every three forward steps one makes, one takes a step backward. The following morning, BabySumoKids went on their first kayaking experience. The backdrop couldn't have been anymore perfect; with the 400 million year old limestone hills and surrounding nature. I was majorly impressed with Hubby's kayaking skills too. Another activity checked off our bucket list ;) For those interested, you can try kayaking for RM5 per person.

we like the petting zoo and surrounded natural environment. The hot spring, sam and hubby had an enjoyable time but definitely not include me >_< Hopefully they can improve the enforcement of the dress code rules as well as the cleanliness of the pool water (if it really caused by lack of maintenance)

Crystal Pool is the highlight in Hot Spring & Spa area. We were bathed in the pool with colorful lighting. We came to this pool to adapt on the 40°C temperature of hot spring before we headed on to try on other pools. It was super hot at first but once my body adapted to the temperature, it turned out to be relaxing.

The weather was hot, the sea was blue and green. It's beautiful! We did snorkeling for awhile and being attacked a big group of tiny white jellyfish when we wanted to get closer to the area where all the colourful fishes were! The jellyfish were not poisonous but still it stings! Anyway, it's fun!

Nice and clean beach, just 20 minutes from Kota Kinabalu. Snorkeling is alright with clean water and some fishes, not much corals though. Plenty of tiny jellyfish 😓 Plenty of Chinese and Korean tourists. Pack your lunch and drinks (maybe include tea as well) before going to the islands.

It's round and slopes down. A star-shaped water fountain sits in the center. I was here to warm up my rusty muscles before the Guardian Walkathon.
