I'd say good combinations, although a little salty as expected but tasty, appetizing, and satisfying meal.
Food today: 7 / 10 👍👍😋😋
This is the 8th visit to Milligram since October 27, and some days like today, the Café is almost empty before 12pm and then empty again after 2pm.
Overall the food is still up to expectation and the price is still reasonable (market rate in PJ). Consistency is of the freshness and taste of their food is the key of the popularity of Lala Chong Kayu Ara Seafood Restaurant.
The Kam Heong crabs were super huge and super-satisfying. We ordered two crabs (RM88/kg) to feed five. The kam heong sauce was fragrant - we detected the addition of bunga kantan, which really elevated the dish.
There is also a satay stall here at Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant. Satay is tasty and juicy, worth to order as side dish while eating your dinner here.
Overall, the food is good at Pantai Seafood Restaurant Kampung Sg Kayu Ara. Surprisingly, the food prices here are still within our budget. They have premium live seafood and they have affordable ones so do order based on your budget. To be honest, we don’t mind coming back again.
First dish – the Nyonya Fish. This was my favorite dish of the night. The fish itself was Tilapia, which was a perfect choice if you want something cheaper yet meaty and delicious. The Nyonya gravy to me was the star of the dish. It was flavorful, a little spicy and a little sweet and having it with the rice was da bomb.
Pantai Seafood Restaurant is full service casual dining restaurant with guests profile comprising mainly of families, group gatherings and office workers, many of who are regulars.
中西合璧风味的本招牌烧腊,以及旧世界葡萄酒的融合。从大口吃肉的粗犷和爽快之中带来幽雅的欧洲小布尔乔亚风情。

Rice with Roast Pork, BBQ Pork and Roast Chicken at MYR 17 nett. The Roast Chicken breast meat is tender so I like it. They put the Roast Pork on top of a piece of plastic sheet to keep the skin crispy by not soaking up the gravy from the rice. The gravy has a bit of Lap Cheong (wax sausage) taste. Both of us shared this packet of rice for lunch.
For the portion of dim sum and the quality of it, we did not think Jin Xuan is overpriced this round. It costed us less than RM 50 for all the dim sum.
This is our definitely favourite go-to spot to fix our dim sum crave in PJ! One of the best affordable dim sum in Petaling Jaya, it never fails to satisfy ou...
Dim sum dishes are at a price range of RM5 to RM7, with specialty dishes like the ribs racking up a more meaty price tag of RM13.
‘Woon Chai Taufoo’ (Taufoo Bowl) is one of their specialties and I recommend that you go for this. The name of this dish is being derived from the way its prepared i.e. taufoo in a bowl. The taufoo texture is really smooth and is served together with oyster sauce and crispy dried prawns. The amount of oyster sauce can be reduce though. This yummy dish costs RM8
The Nasi Lemak stall operated by an elderly couple offers chinese cooking Nasi Lemak with Sotong, beef, achar, fish, curry chicken, and fried mushroom. My plate of Nasi Lemak with the fried mushroom, beef, and boiled egg is at rm$7.50.
definitely quite a few breakfast choices to choose from.

Roast Pork Belly (MYR 35) Crispy roast pork served with pickled papaya salad, mashed potato and dipping sauce. Would love to opine that the siew yuk here was actually pretty good- considering this Oriental affair is delivered from some Western kitchen but still got executed with crackling crispy skin! The accompanied relish was lovely too!
Piggie Pesto, 29 ringgit. This was good. It was a classic pesto pasta with smoked pork bacon and pork croutons. A lil dryer than the pesto pastas I usually have and with a whole lot lesser pesto sauce but it was nevertheless tasty. The pork croutons was a creative inclusion, it certainly did add flavor and some chewyness to this dish. There were button mushrooms scattered all over which added more texture to the dish. Overall, a good dish.
Eat at J's cafe in PJ.
BANANA CREAM PIE & KEY LIME PIE (MYR 10.50 each) Pies are lovesome here, namely Banana Cream and Key Lime. Contrasting with the tartness of the calamansi themed confectionary, I personally love the former one as the banoffee-like pastry is house-crafted just nice, not overly sweet nor soggy, which more often than not, is kinda saccharine after the banana got caramelized as encountered elsewhere. So whenever now am craving for some sweet fix, I’ll literally ‘Eat @ J’s’! (✿◠‿◠)
The entrance has an outstanding decoration with all the wooden walls, which enhance the cafe's unique and retro feel. It's a perfectly pleasant little space from the look of the outside.
Verdict: The Wonton Mee didn’t impress us as much as I’ve expected because it is being listed as one of the Top 10 Wonton Mee to try in Klang Valley.
Difficult to complain a rm$5.50 plate of Wantan Mee, the "干撈燒腸雲吞麵 Dry Siew Cheong Wantan Mee" comes with 撈燒 Siew Cheong, 雲吞 Wantan, as well as dry Wantan Mee.
When you come to a place that has a food name in its name, you better order that dish to see if they did any justice adopting it. While not pictured here, the wantan was indeed quite massive by usual standard. But is bigger better? Like other things, it's a personal preference. For one, I don't care much about the size as long as it tastes good though it does make it easier to swallow if it's smaller. I'm still talking about wantan, btw. The noodles here were not shabby either, springy and taste good.
The rm$7 "豬扒冷米粉 Pork Chop cold noodles" Vietnamese style, is like a Super-Charged Power bowl of Salad.
the teh tarik and kopi are both definitely worth sampling!
"猪小弟の美食 Pig Brother House" offers Pork chop rice or noodles from rm$8 to rm$9.90.
整体来说这里的食物算还可以,午餐时刻这里几乎都满桌,不想跟那么多人一起用餐的话建议避开用餐的时间来,价钱方面偏高
My favourite place for Korean food (Address: T-03A, Atria Shopping Gallery, Jalan SS 22/21, Ss 22, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor). They have good set meals, and my favourite has to be the one with roast pork.
Personal Recommendations: ❤️Japchee ❤️Kimchi – Jigae ❤️Kimchi-sam-gyeop-sal-gui Reasons to Visit ❤️Delicious Korean home-cooked delights
Honestly, it was okaylah. It definitely is not the best I’ve tasted. Wei Ji still is my favorite. However, Choong Kee definitely is strategically located. If I had a craving and didn’t have much time to spare, this could be my temporary go-to??
Famous for their piping hot, delicious, and flavorful chicken rice.
Choong Kee Claypot Chicken Rice restaurant at Damansara Jaya is well-known to serve one of the best Kampar style Claypot Chicken Rice in Petaling Jaya.
Likes: Lou Shu Fun, Guinness wings Dislikes: Xo Noodles don't have XO in it, rude service, lady boss thinks she is always right, walks off when the issue had not been resolved. Did not attempt to serve a new one / remove from the bill / resolve the issue by offering XO. Felt cheated by this establishment.
Coincidentally, we were going to catch Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children at Tropicana GSC at night time, so this time round we dropped by XO Fish Noodle for some simple, quick Chinese food outside of the mall since we couldn’t decide what to eat even after a brief touring in the mall earlier per se, haha.
I really like the broth of the fish head noodles and definitely don’t mind to come back for more!
Once we are seated, the servers come round with the stars of the meal – juicy lamb shoulder, rump steaks, lamb chops and chicken ham, all on skewers. Diners are each given a pair of tongs to grip the meats as they are sliced at the table to prevent them from falling off. With pink and juicy centres, the meats are perfectly grilled. However, if you prefer your meats rarer or more cooked, you can request for that and they’ll come round later with your preferences.
Besides counting the beef as one of the best meats served at Carnaval, I will also recommend the ham and pineapple, especially when served hot! The bottom line is Carnaval is the place to be if you have a simple passion for meat. With unlimited servings and being able to eat meat that is always kept warm, we guarantee you'll be seriously considering going vegetarian after a night here at Carnaval. =D
美茶餐室 Restoran Mayang Jaya" is still to sample the 叉燒雲吞麵 Charsiew Wanton Mee
Was here just 3 months ago, and back for the Charsiew Wantan Mee again; perhaps should have sampled the Chicken Feet or Curry Chicken Wantan Mee; next time!
SS26's 美茶餐室 Restoran Mayang Jaya was definitely a good find this morning!

One offers Sarawak noodles and this one called "仁丹(杰)海鮮粉和潮州粥" offering seafood noodle and porridge!
Worth sampling next visit maybe the seafood noodle, also available is a road side malay nasi lemak stall (just outside the kopitiam), so can tapao and eat at the kopitiam.
Siew yok rice is not really crispy at all. The siew yok is slightly oily and the skin of the siew yok is not crispy. Taste: 2/5 Price: RM 4.50
We enjoyed the two porridge offerings, and would come back to try their healthy lunch boxes. Note that the space is quite small with only a handful of tables, as Bonjuk seems to mainly cater to deliveries.
What do We Like about Bonjuk & Lunchbox Cafe? -Many variety of lunchbox and Korean dishes to choose from -Value for money
The food here is quite decent. As for the BKT, its those light version but the broth was rich in flavor. I did feel a little thirsty after dinner but it was tolerable(or acceptable) compared to some other places. Overall, a family restaurant and better yet, it's near my in-law's place. :)
Sang Kut Bak Kut Teh which normally requires 45 minutes to cook and I guess Ung has made the prior arrangement for this dish. I enjoyed the soup very much.
Daddy suggested Restaurant New Cheow Sang (in Taman Mayang Jaya, nearby the old Lim Kok Weng building). Name sounds familiar to you die-hard BKT addicts? Well, from what I understand, it's actually an extension of Restaurant Cheow Sang (in SS2). Either that or one of the siblings had a disagreement with another sibling and decided to open a rival shop, with the similiar name, selling the similiar food. Well, if that's the case, I wouldn't be surprise, coz it happens ever so often. Or perhaps, the old restaurant was simply closed and shifted to here? I am not so sure myself.
For the grouper fillet mix soup noodle of Mr Fish, we opted for clear soup. The fried grouper fillets were extra crunchy and we liked it!
