Overall the food is still up to expectation and the price is still reasonable (market rate in PJ). Consistency is of the freshness and taste of their food is the key of the popularity of Lala Chong Kayu Ara Seafood Restaurant.
The Kam Heong crabs were super huge and super-satisfying. We ordered two crabs (RM88/kg) to feed five. The kam heong sauce was fragrant - we detected the addition of bunga kantan, which really elevated the dish.
There is also a satay stall here at Lala Chong Seafood Restaurant. Satay is tasty and juicy, worth to order as side dish while eating your dinner here.
A very satisfying meal HEEHAHA. Serving's quite fast, even during peak hours. The only downside is that it isn't really budget-friendly. However, if you really wanna do your endless craving for seafood justice, this is the place. And it's halal btw. :)
Another variety of seafood. Sweet + sour + spicy crabs with lotsa gravy... We also ordered half a dozen of mantao (fried buns) to dip it into the crab gravy.
The external skin is coated with coarse salt. The skin is too salty to be eaten but the meat was juicy and tasty. At the fish’s tummy you can see some enhancing ingredients like ginger, garlic and green chilli in it.
Yesterday night me and 3 other colleagues had seafood dinner @ Lala Chong, Kayu Ara. I have heard of Lala Chong but I have never been there. So, since one of them has arranged for it, I was more than happy to check it out. We ordered crabs, lala meehoon, veggie, lala, squid, sizzling toufu and also satay!. it was a OK dinner, but i found that the food was kind of salty and oily!. The 'kat-chai suen mui' was perfect to wash it down!. hehehe...
Boring with normal stir-fry vegetable?? Try their another signature dish – paku pakis with tuna at RM12. Sound kinda weird but it actually taste good. Imagine stir-fry paku pakis with belacan mixed with canned tuna and Voila~~
