I guess it is the best Yong Tau Fu in Puchong.
Yong tau fu is often associated with Ampang, but here at Puchong you can find a freshly made to order version that’s pretty awesome too. Love the panmee styl...
This place is pretty famous and parking could be a problem, this we like to visit on weekday lunch to avoid the crowd.
If you are in Puchong looking for something unique to try, I would recommend Restoran Kari Kepala Ikan Tiga. They are the creator of this steamed fish dish called Specialty Steamed Seafood King that’s also topped with sea prawns, clams and squid. The taste is very similar to ‘Siong Tong Lala’ as they use the same fish bone soup base. In fact, you can think of it as ‘Siong Tong Lala’ added with fish and squid.
Curry fish head is one of the two signature dishes in this shop served under a burner and its taste was awesome, the curry flavour is strong and creamy. I love it.
Summary A place that is affordable for everyone. A place for someone who loves Malay cuisine and spicy food.
Sekali fikir-fikir kita singgah ke Warung Cikgu Bukit Puchong. Kiranya dulu kalau ke Bukit Puchong singgah Restoran Tuan Paridah sahaja. Tapi lauk dia cepat sangat habis. Jadi Warung Cikgu lebih mudah kerana lauknya hanya ayam goreng bersama sambal dan kuah sahaja, nasi mmanggey kata orang....
Selamat mencuba ! Gerenti tak rugi. Sure puas hati !
This is his preferred go-to fix for this very Klang Hokkien meal.
For me personally, I will stand on my ground for the soupy bak kut teh because my Bak Kut Teh craving was utterly satisfied, Another visit to Yap Chuan Bak Kut Teh? Why not? I won't mind. I am definitely keen in finding about what else will be a good run and in tandem to soupy bak kut teh or black vinegar pork knuckles.
We settled down to a 2 person portion of dry BKT, 1 person portion of soup BKT and 1 portion each of blanched lettuce, taufu pok, golden mushroom strands and yau cha kuai. The BKT was spot-on, from the caramelized and fragrant dry BKT to the thick and tasty soup BKT.
After a reasonably long wait, the Claypot Chicken Rice arrived. We ordered the smaller one since were had a heavy lunch and still, it was good to feed two light eaters. Just look at the ingredients, there was so much chicken, Lap Cheong, and they were very generous with the sauces and ground ginger. Mix it all up and it was heavenly. Truly one of the best Claypot Chicken Rice in town. Now I know why this place is so famous. Truly worth the wait and my rating for this shall be 9/10.
My personal favourite has got to be their shrimp fritters (har beng). Some people like their fritters to be thin and crunchy, but I prefer the version here which is quite thick and loaded with shrimp.
Trying this new dim sum and Chee Cheong Fun breakfast place. The food is average.
The Western food is just okay.
Good food.
Interesting cafe. Western breakfast and Sabah noodle is not bad.
overall aku rasa makanan kat sini sedap...dah la tengah makan, ada busking lagu best best...staff dia semua sporting siap menari nari...hahaha memang layan juga laa aku rasa weh kat sini...sambil melepak sambil layan busking...lagu lama lama yang asyikkk...hahaha....makanan pun tak mahal sangat...aku rasa dalam RM50 je termasuk kek lapis yang aku bawa balik...nyummeh!
Nice to find some interesting Sarawak food like Kolo Mee and Mee Jawa.
Makanan apa yang menarik? Tentulah mee kolok, laksa Sarawak, umai... Peehhh! Umai belum sampai... Lain kali boleh try untuk umai pulak. Lambat sampai, habis!
Puchong is a large city and if you were at Bandar Puchong Utama area, HERE could be the best dinner. Address: 19, Jalan Bpu 2, Kawasan Perniagaan Bandar Puchong Utama, 47100 Puchong, Selangor. Contact: 017 390 9866
Even though we booked for 6.30pm, still have to wait for 30 minutes for a table. I suspect the best time to visit is 6.00pm. Yam Basket and Mantis Prawn is pretty good, but the Curry Fish Head is a..
Recommended: Western Butter Fish, Twin Pork Ribs and Assam Three Kingdom
Going to share with you another affordable location that you can try during the weekdays if you fancy curry noodle in a uniquely small size restaurant. Patrons claimed that the dishes did represent the taste of Ipoh - subtle in appearance yet packed with flavors as you eat.
Verdict If you are looking forward to Ipoh-style noodle dishes, light-medium taste or perhaps new location to dine in, this will be a place for you.
Raisin Pork Roulade (RM 32) is pretty good, crispy skin and juicy meat. Really soft mash potato, nice sauce and some cranberries for extra flavour. Spicy Mediterranean Chicken Chop (RM 21.90) is..
We enjoyed our light lunch at Bistro Monologue. While I wouldn’t call the food mind blowing, everything tastes fresh and homemade, service is friendly, and the environment is cozy. Prices are slightly above average, though, so probably not a lunch spot I’d go to often.
These were mud crabs, so they were fairly sizable and meaty. You can opt for a bigger type of crab as well, although it will be pricier. We had ours sweet and sour style, but you can also get it cooked in black pepper, buttermilk, kam heong, etc. The crab meat tasted fresh. The sauce was a little too salty for me but it had good flavour, and there was a lot of it to go with rice + a side order of fried mantou (buns).
Verdict of the restaurant :- Personally I do not like the fish nor the crab. The Steam Fish was not good at all. Meat was not fresh and it is not fully defrost when steam, so the fish meat tend to be rough and the sauce is tasteless and it is not sour, spicy of fragrant at all, plus the captain strongly recommended this dish, no doubt was very cheap for the price of RM10. As for the crab, the captain said is XL Crab, but when the dish arrived, the crab was just large size, but not as describe XL size. Priced at RM 40 per kilogram.
Love the tasty food and big portion.
Tasty and value food, definitely would like to come back again.
One portion is RM 18, and the soup is the winner. Downside is smaller size and less ingredients besides the meat. Yam rice is pretty good too.
I mean, what can I say? Solid corndog. You get melty, stretchy Mozzarella cheese and hot dog on the inside, and a nice crispy batter on the outside. Best eaten hot, but if you must take away, you can pop it into the microwave and voila!
Their specialty is their handmade kolo mee, which is slightly thicker than the regular ones you see at other stalls. The texture is al dente and provides a nice bite, and the sauce is well balanced. Instead of charsiu, the version here features slices of zha yuk (deep fried pork belly with red fermented bean curd), with the crispy bits used as garnish. The pairing is unusual, but not unpleasant. If you’re craving a kolo mee fix, this is a decent dish! Portions are pretty generous too.
I personally like this Claypot Loh Shu Fun, not too salty (I think) and not starchy and great with the egg!
Nasi Lemak with Taiwanese Chicken Chop, 14.90 ringgit This dish was delicious. I liked it a lot. At first glance, , it is easy to assume that the chicken chop would be a lil ‘dry’ for a nasi lemak, I thought the same thing judging from how it looked like but upon trying it – it tasted yummy. The thin outer layer of the chicken was crispy and crunchy and the inside was tender and juicy. It certainly worked well with the rest of the Nasi Lemak. The sambal was also a favorite of mine. It was spicy and packed with heat but it sure tasted awesome. Would totally give this dish a go again 🙂
