Hock Kee Kopitiam, open from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm, is the go to place for those seeking hearty breakfasts and satisfying meals throughout the day. We left Hock Kee anticipating our return to explore more.
My carbonara spaghetti came in a huge serving, topped with heaps of Parmesan cheese. The pasta was cooked al dente, and it was creamy without being cloying (to me, at least), with generous bits of bacon. Solid dish, no complaints. Those who don’t like rich flavours might want to give it a pass though.
除了以上几样,我们还点了蒸鱼、咸鱼炒芥兰、炸鸡翅和煎蛋,大致上都不错,只可惜都没拍到照片,只能等下一次再分享咯~
Tastewise, it was okay. The Mala broth had plenty of spice but that was it, no heat and rather watery. There were 3,4 slices of pork belly, which was nice and chewy, the mushrooms were a good addition.
On a side note, some of the dishes that I find extraordinarily palatable include: Roasted Beef, Ikan Bakar (Ikan Pari), Grilled Prawns, Chicken Curry Laksa, Satay, Rojak, Keropok, and Ice Kacang.
Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawns, 11. 90 ringgit This particular type of fried rice is my favorite but of late, I’ve been reluctant to give it a go. Why? Well, most of the ones I have tried has been rather bland, almost tasteless. The kind that if it was not for the generous portion of pineapples – you can hardly any flavors. This time however, I decided to simply try my luck and it paid off because the fried rice was delicious. The rice had flavor, there were bits of pineapples scattered all over and with a generous serving of cashew nuts and prawns. Yum yummmm.
这里的食物属于中上水准,除了点菜吃饭,也不少人在这里吃火锅或是顺德料理中很常见的海鲜煲。适逢家中有庆典,或是想带长辈们吃一餐好的,可以考虑这里哦!
My favourite dish of the night, Kake Udon (RM21), a hearty broth with udon, and that every important runny egg. Definitely I'd reorder this.
My only complaint was the soup, which I felt a bit lacking and tasted as though it came from a can.
Lamb Kalabi (RM24) Fusion at its best with keema style spiced lamb and mozzarella meeting on a pizza dough.
