My first encounter with Kai Duck restaurant was during the pandemic when I realized the huge lunch crowd waiting for entry either for East Ocean Restaurant or Kai Duck.
Nice and exquisite food. The Peking duck was superb – fatty, crispy, fragrant and juicy.
Was quite taken in by their braised pork knuckle in fermented bean curd sauce.
Crystal Jade Palace at Takashimaya Shopping Centre and Crystal Jade Golden Palace at Paragon mall has recently refreshed their menu with new tantalizing dishes crafted by Group Executive Chef Martin Foo. We were there for a dinner tasting and here are some of the highlights from the two restaurants:
Crystal Jade's fine dining restaurant, Crystal Jade Palace, has reopened its doors with a refreshed look and menu.
I couldn't really enjoy the different components in the husk together to associate it to the chendol dessert, as I ended up tackling the elements individually.
For the longest time, my friends had been talking about the sushi bar and I frequently mistook it for the standing sushi bar I visited ten...
Overall, we can understand the popularity of the Sushi Bar Taka. Prices are not the lowest in town, but the quality of the food was higher than average.
i would not usually come here for expensive dimsum..
Noka has the potential to be a good farm to table restaurant in town.
Imperial Treasure Nan Bei offers a mix of Chinese food to cater to different needs hence it is surely a good place to dine when in group.
Overall, we think that the food quality (can’t say the same for drinks) at DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe is pretty good for a themed cafe.
Other fusion items which are also on their ‘Must Try’ list include the Demi-Glace Meat Sauce ($16.50) which has long-hour cooked special demi-glace meat sauce on top of minced beef and parmesan, and the Cino & Nara ($16.50) which is a combination of peperoncino and carbonara.
Grand Jeté Cafe is certainly a nice place to have a quick meal in Takashimaya Shopping Centre, away from the maddening shopping crowds in Orchard Road.
Cafe Found is a Korean-style cafe located in Ngee Ann City's The Editor's Market. This café reminds me of a lot of Korean cafes with their minimalistic aesthetic and basic furnishings, such as granite countertops and metal panels.
Overall, there were some hits, but also misses. They do have an extensive menu with seafood and handmade pasta options so I might be back for a second shot.
Overall, I like that their menu and coffee selection change regularly so that there are new items to look forward to every once in a while. Cafe FOUND is definitely a great place to kick back and relax with some pastries and cakes if you are in the area.
Affordable Japanese Food Takeaway from Takashimaya - Kumikatsu bento box, Yonehachi okowa rice with saba, Mr Obanyaki red bean ...
The meat itself was a bit on the dry side, but those thin shabu shabu-like slices also kept them rather fun and tasty enough for me to gobble up quickly.
this eatery takes pride in their katsu that replicates the intricacies of mille-feuille desserts.
When I exited from The Sushi Bar a few weeks ago after the farewell lunch for my colleague cum friend, I walked past the nearby the East Oc...
The service at Empire was not as slick as the two big names in town, but was friendly and helpful. It is good to have another Chinese dining concept in Singapore.
They have retained the long wooden table and some seating from the Raffles Hotel outlet, so customers can take a respite and enjoy their warm Taiwanese hospitality of tea and a small bite.
The new outlet at Ngee Ann City has two ongoing promotion—any scone/teacake/butter croissant with a beverage at S$6 or any slice of baked tart and a beverage at S$11.80.
Their fruit tarts are crowd-pleasers that have legions of fans coming back for more.
Service at DONQ is completely self-service. You pick out the breads you want from the display, and queue to pay over the counter.
They have quite a variety on menu and some of those items have been such a common find here that I wonder if this was truly Szechuan or localized Szechuan.
I loved the Tiao Bao Nourishing Chicken Soup ($10.80) rich in depth and earthy with juicy matsutake mushrooms.
D’Good Cafe is one of the cafe not only serves delicious staple but also good service which I appreciate.
Don’t miss the Giant Grouper-themed menu at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant. It’s an epicurean journey that will leave an indelible impression. Make your reservations here.
Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant has refreshed it’s a la carte menu and launched the seasonal Sri Lankan Crab menu recently.
This is only a little teaser of what to expect, and there’s definitely more to come so be sure to make your reservations at Wan Hao Chinese Restaurant to get a taste of some of the best Cantonese cuisine in Singapore!
A food blog from a Singapore-based traveler
All in all, I do not mind splurging once in a while for such delicious lobster rolls.
Overall, it was an excellent culinary journey of Argentinian cuisine. While some of the dishes look familiar, we find the taste uniquely different due to the use of Argentinian flavour and ingredients. Salud! Cheers!

The Kyoto Weekend Afternoon Tea is back at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore One-Ninety Bar and Garden! If you missed it back in September last year, well here’s your chance so don’t mis…

I am always in a fix on where to curb my hunger at The Centrepoint ; there were just too many choices at Gastro+ and my simple mind obviou...
Misato certainly served delicious Japanese food and they paid special attention to the cutlery and utensils too. However, it is a little slow. We would still recommend. Therefore, dine when you have the time to spend.
Da Shi Jia Big Prawn Mee 大食家大大大虾面, one of the listing under Michelin Bib
Portions were a little small. Prices were a little high.
This noodle chain apparently commands long lines back in Malaysia, mainly for a broth that is made from forty different kinds of local fish bones (313 Orchard Road #B3-37, 6363-5323). So I was disappointed when I took a sip of it to find that it wasn't anywhere as savory as I would've thought, and in fact was slightly sweet.
Food at GO Noodle House is Malaysian Chinese cuisine, focused on soup noodles with their signature broth. The menu is extensive, with a good range. Quality of dishes is consistent, tasty and delicious.
Good texture going on with the toppings but the noodles on their own weren't impressive at all.
Sun with Moon at Wheelock Place is one of those places I always see when I drive past but have never been to – until now.
SUN with MOON, the popular Japanese dining concept, is proud to announce the launch of its Early Summer Menu. Beat the heat with an array of delectable dishes from satisfying savories to sweet tooth-curing treats that celebrate the flavors of the season.
