Known for its ‘All You Can Eat’ Peranakan buffet, Chilli Padi Nonya Cafe at Heng Mui Keng Terrace now presents a new and refreshed Peranakan a la carte buffet concept.
The oxtail stew was very good. The meat was soft and the gravy was thick and rich. The mashed potato at the bottom goes so well with the meaty flavours. If only the pieces of oxtail had a better ratio of meat to bone, it would be a perfect dish.
The restaurant is run by the Prive group and is open to the public.
If you are a fan of Amoy Street Food Centre's famous "green" chee cheong fun 綠色腸粉 and wondering where it disappeared to, your favourite CCF is now here at NUS Science Canteen in Li Ji Coffee House.
Empress Porridge is definitely worth a visit.
S$16nett pax, so much cheaper than all these teochew muay places..that’s why i don’t go to any of them for the longest time…
I highly recommend this cafe for their wide variety of delicious Peranakan dishes at a reasonable price. I will definitely go back in the future with my family, on a day my dad is willing to drive.
