Soong Huat's BKT soup looks like over diluted tea.
They taste very different from Singapore Bak Kut Teh(BKT) as the broth was taste with the pork meat goodness and other ingredient such as crispy beancurd skin and Enoki Mushroom loaded in it which made the broth extremely rich in flavours. The Bak Kut Teh were prepared using charcoal fire which made it even more flavorful and nice.
Despite the disappointing BKT, the sizzling pot of sesame oil chicken was a ray of optimism for me to revisit Shoon Huat in the future.
We liked the braised pork knuckles 猪脚 too. The pork knuckle came in bite size chunks, though I personally prefer it to be served in a one-piece shank :)
Overall, the Yellow Rice Wine Chicken was GOOD & Tasty! You can feel the Yellow Rice Wine of every bite if the chicken. But the Bak Kut Teh was just average (The pork were not soft enough) same as others. Total Damage : MYR55.00 (For 5 adults and one child)
