Overall, the food at Kimdo is not fancy and more like a local zi char hangout place. It might not be the most popular stall for Singaporeans as the prices have increased over the year and the parking availability is terrible, we like going to Kimdo for its fuss-free food and the BBQ and the convenience of travelling to this area
We definitely recommend stopping by KS Treasures for a good meal. We find the prices very affordable especially for the quality of the ingredients that they use. There is also definitely something for everyone with its extensive menu, so it is perfect for families and gatherings.
One of the popular Bak Kut Teh eateries in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is Restoran Kota Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh, sometimes known as “Sentosa Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh”...
Arriving sizzling hot in a claypot, the first thing you would notice is that it is bountiful of ingredients as the crispy beancurd skin and chopped spring onions act as a blanket over. ‘Open’ it up and take a sip of the rich, brownish-coloured soup. There is a lot going on in terms of its flavours, and surprisingly it is delicately herbal but not overly intense.
I would’t say it was a letdown, but I felt that it was run-of-the-mill and not really worth the calories.
A glance at the Set Menus shows a price range from as low as RM788, RM988, RM1,188 to as high as RM4,688 for a table of 10 persons.
Perhaps the only thing that make them different is that they are offering Spanish Iberico Pork, however, if you want that, you have to make a booking in advance.
Ah Lee Taiping Famous Kuih is also well known for their meat dumplings 肉粽 - shall check these out next time (Many readers asked me where to get good bak chang in JB).
Go give this Iberico pork BKT by Kota Zheng Zong a try.
Overall, it’s clear that Chef Benson is extremely passionate and knowledgeable when it comes to Modern Chinese cuisine. The food plating is exquisite and filled with details, as expected of a fine dining establishment. More importantly, the taste and experience reflected that.
